PARADISE MAVERIK 12/1 with PP seems a fair bet considering how unlucky he was in the irish derby,

he has been on the go an awful long time now and has to prove he runs Harolds Cross as well as Shelbourne

I think the 550 might suit him better as well, the only dog to beat Laughill blake ,i have a score on him and take the chance PF

3 for me: 33/1 Valentia Slate (each-way), 12/1 Paradise Maverick and 16/1 Ballymac Gordie. The Frances O'Donnell trained Slate has a verdict over Plate hopeful Saint Anthony at Shelbourne off a fast split. Off since, but flew round here in a 2-bend trial recently to suggest all's well. Maverick put up some tremendous efforts in the Derby and although trip could be a shade sharp, imo, must be included. Ballymac Vic's Gordie just looks a big improver to me.

Just of note could give a chance to Whist A Mhic, who beat Farloe Blitz (very near top of market) in the Newbridge Puppy Derby but passed at the price. Similar story for Save The Don, but could go a long way.

At the other end of the scale, dogs for loose change each-way struck me as Old Fort Cracker don't think should be 50/1 on her best form and same remark and price Soviet Jackson, fair Newbridge form

Good luck!

Whist A Mhic looks big at 20s, would say he will be well suited to HRX with his early, Borna King could go well at 50s as well

any opinions after the first round ?

Dunno but think 20/1 Gordie a bit big, so small top up. Got potential and can do better, imo

Yeah heat 5 is ridiculous, most of the more impressive dogs from round 1 drawn in it in my opinion, thought there was a really impressive run in defeat by another dog but I ain't on yet

You would think impressive 16 lengths winner Save The Don a bit generous at 16/1, but barely made the bend and could be a shade risky. Think Coolavanny List could be an each-way prospect at 33/1, though. Others to run with a degree of credit Minglers Trio and Fair Taxes but not so sure Baile Mhic will be getting away quite so well in future

Gotta be happy with Paradise Maverick but Ballymac Gordie would be the bigger payout now

PF, never got a reply to my pm. Youre probably only just coming back to life. Basically, I was asking if Sugar Ray retired or a possible tilt at the English St Leger?

jeezus krist woody you would put Sugar Ray down a coal mine and have him pulling carriages or hod carrying in Dubai

Love Sugar Ray. Even more so if he goes to Wimbledon and wins the Leger

Swayne, I know what you mean but he seems to love his racing and still in great form. If they had stuck with retiring Vic, he would have missed out on running in the final this year

you're getting too confident now and getting carried away with yourself, we got a right touch last week in HRX but i ain't silly enough to know that was a total fluke and i would give it all back if i went tonight

the 2 pups from heat 5 are magic, stunning early pace

Maverik ran some race too after the trouble but i do worry about him to the corner and can see him having more problems in the comp on it

Pleased with improved run from Ballymac Gordie but this Farloe Blitz a big danger. Blonde Nipper flew home to qualify in his heat and could be a staying star of the future. Disappointed Paradise Maverick out, unlucky

Like the crackdown at the back end of last year when huge amounts of positives came out about certain trainers and they where told to put the license in their partners name but did nowt and nowt happened. Sure it's all in the feed innit, nowt to do with the trainers
