Smashing card with lots of useful Essex Vase aspirants going through their paces.
Riding high Charlie Lister has a rare runner at the Essex track with Hather George. Although George hasn't been round, he showed his speed in the Derby and likely to find these 6 bends spot on after the Leger trip proved a shade too far. Wont be easy with smart on his day Smiler Jack and recent runaway winner Lenson Pele in opposition, though. In fact, it's hard to rule any of them out. Should be a fine race.
Droopys Odell was a touch below par in the Eclipse but likely to find these rivals much slower, can make the most of the draw to offset not having the benefit of a spin here.
Saw Droopys Hope come from last to first when recording a fine win at Sheffield recently. Although not been round and trip plenty short enough, she's a class act and could get up late, considering A New Venture's 23.75 looks a fluke.
Forget Garrygass Rodge's last run where he fluffed the start. He normally goes up well, has his draw and improvement more than likely.
Left it until the late races to bet and backed 5/1 Jazz Tilly. In form, just as capable over 6 bends (as seen when chasing home Hather George in the 3 Steps), game, has won a couple over c/d and just appears overpriced to me.
In the lucky last, gone for 7/2 Aayamzalad. Decent all-rounder and could be a tough nut to crack. No idea why Centurion Sandra is nearly always short when they issue early prices. Disappointing type, imo , lay.
It certainly is a very interesting viewing card looking ahead to the Vase next week. Hopefully I won't have a sky+ fail!!
Glanmire Warrior and Southern Mesut I liked tonight. GW for leadability claims alone, run well last two weeks in behind two fancied winners. Real good chance to make all. Should lead red, holds three on sectionals and wimb sprint line, four was interesting being a brother to Sidarian Teejay and D.London but might need run after lay off. Five's form didn't jump off page while six looks a numbers maker. 9/4 or better seemed fair.
Mesut was ultra impressive last week. Steps up in class but no world beaters in here. Any repeat of last weeks run it wins. Looks a nice animal. I fear red as it can throw in a big run but I think SM will lead. Four moves right, so should get plenty of room to bend and he can open up down the back like last week.
Westlake Scrap 7/2 looks a big runner in first.
All eyes on Hather George no doubt, it's good too see high profile runners at the track.
9:56 Bridge Jane I think is a false favourite tonight. Emptied far too early last week and is perhaps not fully back to best yet. I've chanced this Hometown Day again at 9/2. Ran a stinker last week, fluffed the start from five and never a factor but this has 35:50's in the locker and with the aid of the three box could be value.
Also couldn't resist 6/1 Jet Stream Odds. Garryglass is a fast animal for sure but not a 10/11 shot in against dogs like three and four. JSO really impressed on debut, run with credit upped in class last week and if a bit sharper at boxes tonight will make 6/1 look massive.
GL all

going to need the run but still could be good enough, needs to miss 6 run up but stripes will drop out the race out of second bend so all clear after that..

perfect chance for 3 here, ok is short but no pace around better off in middle now, 28.57 for apr 12 a7 should be within compass tbh newcomers drawn next to each other never a good idea

3 was my standout nap here, but even still not gone overboard as 2 unknown quantity to me, but she should find a pitch ok behind the early but in front of the slugs top and bottom

what are the sheeting on about, Chicago was beaten after 1 yard when he walked out and 1 & 2 came away and moved off - he may have picked up an injury but that was not the reason 4 his defeat

Can anyone tell me how rpgtv apply the moniker "Open Expert" to this guy Bullein? He's worse than fattie - not got a clue. Is he he on a big five retainer to put us all away?

poss last to first needed but how could mill whiskers be 5/1 in a place earlier,
the make up not too bad with blatant front runners all giving him a tow, 1 lead change should make the race slow enough prefer 4 to lead tho
5x6 cast for the beans

very impressive run from 4, 28 dead gunna win a decent number of A4s, 27.89 re-qual approaching A3 tbf, not betting though how tonight gone + 1 got a nice plot and dropped so won't be easy

Hather George didn't run the track or show his best pace. He was wide off the second bend, before switching wildly inside on the straight. Wouldn't be surprised if he misses the Essex Vase now?
