Money invested in Sheffield likely to be well-spent. Puts certain other tracks to shame and would be my nearest dog track if Belle Vue goes to the developers. Re-Vue: Some work being carried out i noticed last night. Old Hills shop gone and looks like theyre trying to create extra seating or something near the downstairs bar. Management proberbly trying to forward-think with Oaks/Laurels coming up. Future looks stable at the mo anyway Happy

Been the same here for a few years now. Hopeless from a betting point of view and a thread was put up some 3 or 4 years ago to that effect.

Yer that bookie in the middle used to be decent like 5-10 years ago. Would bet to 120 per cent and lay a large one.

Now bet like 3-4 b4 race , to around 130 to 140 per cent. Not sure if he lays a bet now as never bother betting with the books anymore.

I bet he still drives around in a flash car though Cool

I t beggars belief that they can bet to 140 to 150 then refuse to take a bet. How the management dont do something about it I dont know. Shame because there is a lot of good things about theplace like the varied racing and the restaurant which is the best at any track ive been to

Woodmanchester - have Hills been moved out of Belle Vue?

Not been a betting office there for a long time. Sheffield shop closed. Don't know about other tracks, but they all may be going that way. You used to be able to watch Sky dogs but big screens taken down. Can watch Wimbledon on inter-track link with Tote betting. Re-the politics of it all, Miss Wales would know best

Been a few years since I have been to the Vue, was planning on going back when i'm next in the area in December.
Will not be happy if I have to bet with the on course bookies, my memory tells me their was no value to be had with huger over rounds.
Is the Belle Vue tote any good on a Tuesday night?

No,
that shows you how long it is since I was there!
Im on the website now, I will try and get down on a Wed afternoon for the BAGS.
Is there much of a book on a wed afternoon on course? Or do you see everyone on their phones?

If you go for a BAGS meeting at Belle Vue take your phone.

There will be a crowd of about 10 virtually no-one bets with the books (why would you?)

The oncourse betting shop was Hills the Betfred now shut...its a long dull afternoon!

Yer not at great at all

All bends no straights
Crap betting percentages
Awful viewing for races, stadium too close to track, far too much steelwork which blocks your view

The only decent viewing area is if you are in the restaurant
