The Irish Greyhound Board announced yesterday that it has signed a direct co-mingling contract with WatchandWager.com LLC, the US licensed advance deposit wagering company and racetrack operator, based in San Francisco, California.
The contract allows WatchandWager's US based customers to bet directly into the IGB's Tote and also allows for use of live Irish greyhound racing data and video streaming on the www.watchandwager.com website. The expected launch date for this new initiative is October of this year and will start with the provision of live racing pictures from Shelbourne Park and Harold’s Cross with more racing venues to follow over the coming months. As a result of the new deal the IGB will eventually show Irish greyhound racing seven days a week to WatchandWager's US based clients.
CEO for the IGB Adrian Neilan said "This is another significant deal for the Irish greyhound industry as it unveils and promotes our premium racing product to a huge new sports betting public throughout the entire United States. We are delighted to form this new relationship with such an established and respected company in WatchandWager and this deal will further help increase revenue generation for our Tote pools."
Ed Comins who is Chief Operating Officer of WatchandWager said "Signing with the IGB adds to our growing list of international content. Specifically it is exciting news for our greyhound followers, and adds to our already established offering of US and UK greyhound content. We look forward to promoting Irish greyhound racing in our core market as an additional offering to our players."
Getting access to the IGB's premier racing content adds to the growing list of racing content available that WatchandWager now offers. The US company also offers wagering on racetracks in the following key Tote territories: USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Sweden, Australia, Japan and New Zealand.

Do these deals make money for IGB? Or does IGB have to pay these guys?? (And hopeenough punters come along and pay into the pool to make a profit..)
In my experience, companies dont do things unless it generates extra revenue. Seems that Tote pools are their idea of the way forward but with surely a retention, the Betfair betting system better for punters and fair percentages over-round with early prices. France horses, for example, have been operating the pari-mutual since i can remember, like a Tote pool and the only prices we get for many foreign races are industry generated, as far as i'm aware
