Could be off the mark here but Buck reminds me a bit of Cuil Cougar, in as much as, didnt fire English Derby but ran out of his skin beaten a whisker by Puma in the Irish equivalent

Yes woodie Cougar was a really fast dog, saw him in Kilcohan think he did a really fast trial but alas injured in his race and not heard of him since, you will be pleased woodie to hear that 'Vic' has been in the pool this week, could strip in better order, for it. Some doggie experts say its as good as a gallop.

Thanks Jay. Seems infection main concern but paddling should help in that respect. Come say hello anyone who likes to, will have City baseball cap on, probably get some drizzle!

Delighted to hear that Irish, nothing to beat a good gallop especially on a Thursday, for the Saturday. I'm sure cute GH had Cabra nice and snug in his leaba, and ready to do his flying gallop on Sat. night, when I expect him to be flying it from the front.

Hegarty might be going 5/2-3/1, but feel sure it wont last. Imo, Sugar Ray needs to come away, or wont get to grips with the leaders. With his class, think Vic could master Carrow quite early and overhaul Buck.
Best prices i can see anyway:
15/8 Vic 2/1 Sugar 10/3 Buck 11/2 Robert 40/1 Carrow

Think last time Vic and Sugar met was in the semis of the English Derby. Vic won with Sugar (trap 1), every chance, beaten over 4 lengths back in 4th. Slight fitness doubt or not, I know who i'd rather be with!

brilliant a 480m race around Wimbledon is a fantastic guide for a 550y race around Shelbourne
the best think for Sugar Ray is either Vic pinging or Sugar Ray missing it, that way he will get to the rails immediately and with everything in the race either middle or wide he should get a solo and if within 3L at the 3rd he should pick them up
as for Ballymac Vic's price he will be at least 5/2 sp - their will be way more money on the night for Tyrur Sugar Ray and the 2 main book in Shelbourne do not fancy Vic one bit

Obviously Shelbourne aint Wimbledon but but Vic no slouch round their either. You know how the land lies. You told me Eske would be fav over Maestro. Dunno but if 3/1 on exchanges, think it could be hammered. Wouldnt that get back to the track?

I've been talking with the books the last 2 nights and as one said last night the punters have never come for a dog with problems hanging over them.Added to that if Ted doesn't fancy something it invariably does not get shorter.
Tyrur Sugar Ray will start 5/4 fav i'd imagine

With hindsight, should have left antepost alone and gone in one big bet 5/2 or 3/1 Vic then. Wouldnt have had too much of an interest over the past few weeks then though. Got 14/1, 7.8 and 7.6 but lots fallen by the wayside. Still a very nice profit if successful though. Pays so much more than just expenses for the trip anyway. When are we getting prices on the supporting races? Want to bet sterling and paid out sterling. You lose when you exchange the Micky Mouse euros back!

not just to be derby champ but VIC stud Fee hinges on tomorrow outcome ? your think as things stand your get him faction Of the price in my eyes he's major classic winner without the prize all breeders how want him don't want winning? HE DEFO unlucky dog cos he's had some charmed draws this year! 5th in first rd which another story !! (SHould never happen IMO )
the trainer needs a knighthood if he wins I'd have around 5 mark on his last two runs 80/90% Again I would love to see sugar ray in English leger its a two bitch affair at the moment!

Peggy Kellys - it's just to the right of the stadium as you're looking at it
i'd imagine it will be packed, know of loads who are going there pre racing

Best odds guaranteed. I know posted my choices but they were price-dependant and done some tweeking. Main bet Sidarian Rhythm/Razldazl Marilyn, paying 7/2. Rhythm has loads of potential and Marilyn ran well on the card over this 750yds against Shanless Becky last year.
Liking 2/1 Knockglass Billy very much. He won on the card last year and i'm quite excited about him.
Had a try on 5/1 Glenanore Dancer in the Consolation, although i was loathe not to back Borna Gem.
Some smaller pop shots at 9/2 Fridays Keegan and same price Bold Three.
Wont be getting out on Paradise Madison after all if 365's 8/13 is any indication. Most lucky winner last time Cambushmore and extremely short Rockburst Pearl make little appeal at current odds, too, imo.
So, getting out falls to 8/1 Abbeyville Tipp, who sent his fans home happy winning the concluder last year. Same again?
Might cya there. Good luck anyway!
Come on you Vic!!!

Havent had a bet in the event for a bit, or any event until a couple of nights ago. Have to back Cabra at 7-2, looks far too big. Vic doubts and can hold up TSR for long enough for CB to get clear. Not sure what stops him being 4 clear at halfway, although respect probably better from 6 the room he'll have will be fine. Just cant see the dog going off 7-2 at all.
GL, dont drink too much and watch those women

Vic running like a lame hound cost Sugar Ray his run in the early part of the race. TSR was clumsy down the back too.
Wd to connections of the winner, clearly the best on the night.

Cabra ran very wide after the bends tonight, but he is a star, exceptional clockwork pace, and handles all traps,he caught the eye because of his habits of running in and out of bends, looked a near dead railer in early days,a fantastic training performance too keep a dog like this ticking over, and a joy to have followed in this comp!

Well done to Slippery Robert, connections, PF and his other loyal followers.
Must say, never had him down as a Derby winner when struggling against Oran Maestro but PF saw the potential, i just couldnt see it, but had to run the race of its life, where think some other winners too were finding time, it seemed. Ballymac Vic wasnt away well, got hemmed in on rails by Tyrur Sugar Ray but ran well til 3rd bend, obviously not right. Thought Cabra Buck looked the winner early bends but Robert flew the back straight and only one winner from the 3rd bend.
Got 4 winners out of the 10 selections posted. Particularly impressed and enjoyed Razldazl Marilyn, Borna Gem and Mall Brandy, but disappointed with Sidarian Rhythm, backed off the boards but limitations exposed and Paradise Madison, also backed off the boards but snail-start and cr*p.
Think i'll be coming for the Night of Stars

i think there were 3 different rucks around me at different stages and i missed every single one of them! Probably for the best
I was talking to a certain "face" at one point and i swear to god i was actually speaking to him and he fell asleep mid convo,ok now i know we were probably in full verbal sh1ts mode but cmon be fair! When he woke up and came to stand by us later he denied he'd been sleeping at all.

Alternating between watching football in pub and going in bookies (as you do pre-going to Shelbourne), i fancied a 5/2f horse but thought the 20/1 rank outsider would go well too, so did the forecast. Half a furlong out i was counting my money but the outsider came again and it was an head-bobber at the post. They took ages announcing the result of the photo-finish and would have settled for a dead-heat but the 20/1 got it by a nostril. Forecast paid 70/1. Would have paid for trip and everthing. Knew there and then it wasnt going to be my night with Ballymac Vic

thanks COM - i suppose it could not have gone any better
Vic didn't hit the lids, Sugar Ray came away better than usual and they done each other Buck led which was perfect for Robert and he ran an absolutely brilliant bend to be up his arse into the back
