just reading a twitter conversation involving a kaminskas (pp) luke bagwell (hills) and j ireson (sj) never read so much b0ll0x in all my life. all 3 are so far up there own arses its untrue. pp saying as soon as they price up others jump, thats rich coming from the biggest cut and paste merchants in the business. none of them could price up a tin of bean. most of them will wait until someone else goes out. y do you think pp are hardly in the price wise table

check,have utmost respect for you mate but these lads are the reason that no-one can get on as i see it,they spend that much time sucking each other off,if they spent that time doing the form or learning their bosses may be willing to lay a bet on their opinions,as it is you and i both know we'd bury the feckers given free rein against them.

Pat, FWIW I think we might be getting our wires crossed a little here and from what I've read think we share the same views on the three firms in question; SJ beyond useless and require an endless supply of tracing paper to copy from, PP have an opinion occasionally but just won't lay any sort of bet even to a stranger, and Hills good imo both at laying and having an opinion.
It's the copying that frustrates me the most. Firms like Boyles, Skybet, Sportingbet, SJ etc don't actually have dedicated compilers, they just copy off oddschecker in the morning and hope its right. That's just wrong both morally and from a business point of view - if someone comes in for a chunk on one you've got no idea whether to lay them or not and end up erring on the side of caution and knocking it back to buttons. How can that possibly be a profitable business model? The people who you REALLY don't want to take on still end up getting on in different ways anyway, and the people who you'll probably win off just get the hump and go elsewhere, so you still end up laying the same business. However, whilst I'm convinced that me and you could do a fairly good job at it, 90% of the people who moan about getting knocked back could not do a better job themselves imo. There's a huge difference between being a successful odds taker and a successful layer. It's next to impossible to get anything worthwhile on here in the morning whether it be horses or dogs, and that's because it's easier to just bet the ricks instead rather than make a market around them. |

What you are saying is that because these bookies are copying their competitors they are essentially limiting the market to a set of fixed prices. British competition law prohibits almost any attempt to fix prices, however there has to be an agreement between participants on the same side in a market to sell a service at a fixed price, that would be hard to prove in this case.

agree about the 90% check,its deffo easier to spot a mistake than make a mistake,know exactly where youre coming from there.
Its why i admire hills tbh,yes they make the odd rick but by fck when they have an opinion they go out to get it properly and they are undoubtably seeing the profits id imagine to more than cover their odd mishaps(i know we will have online punters complaining,we all get restricted there,it doesnt mean you are better than their compilers,its just a net thing honestly guys!) The copycats,pp,sj,boyles are nothing but an utter pain in the a55,you cant get more than a pony,it does pee you off when aylewit and his likes are on twitter or on here making out they are judges when the truth is their bosses see them for what they are and their ineptitude is what fcuks the rest of us over... |

perhaps im being overly harsh in that they are not dedicated dog compilers and are expected to incorporate other sports? if so i apologise..,its the firm taking short cuts and not the lads themselves..

Bit of both imo. They're not dedicated dog compilers and for that reason maybe you can't expect them to have that strong an opinion. My argument to that would be:
a) if you're not willing to do it properly, don't offer the product b) don't tweet stuff like this: Jonathan Ireson @Aylewit 18 Jun Not sure if Boyles copied Ladbrokes or vice versa, but thanks all the same. Double the chance to get 4/5 Eske tonight. when you've never gone up first in your life. |
