it was saying how the mortality rate for surgery was lowest on mondays and increased as you went towards the weekend, think it was something like 50% higher on weekends than on mondays
Oh, yes. In the paper too. Frightening really. They say it's the aftercare that's poor at WEs. When Mrs had her first dose of chemo they did it at 8:00 on a friday night when everyone had gone home even though they said some people have a bad reaction to it.

That's the ageing society for you. In a sense better healthcare makes a rod for its own back.
Mind you there's a lot of people who only have themselves to blame for poor health

how are you r c... society playing galway bay on Monday, used to be a resort hotel but it went bust, golf course was 70 euros a round... now down to 14 euros.... unreal course

Not bad, Ta, Irish. Playing quite well. Came down 1/2 shot last W/E and also beat this young gun in the K/O 6 and 4 when it was blowing a hooley (Is that the correct term over there ? )
got a call last night to go over for the derby at Wimbledon, riding shotgun.... had to think about it for a bit 
Not raining but blowing a gale .... He drove the 260 yd par 4 with a 3 iron .... then into the win is 40 yards short when he'd nailed it to the 140 yd par 3. The wind is fun. But some people just don' get it.

Talking of bunkers. I've invented a new variation of golf for our evening 11 hole games. You have to play via a bunker whenever there's a bunker on that hole. Could be interesting.

Also on a Saturday comp whoever is last standing on the 18th tee, they have to play that hole with a pink ball (the 18th green is overlooked by the clubhouse verandah with people drinking after their round)

irish, you got any time to do any research on average prices returned (seem a lot of rags last month/6 weeks, and fewer favs), would be interesting plot v liquidity
first week of April average greyhound return price on bf was 12.45 , biggest in years
