Evening gentlemen. I've been away from the game for a while and am going down to Hove on Thursday for the first round. I'm not really up to speed with the stayers these days so wondered if anyone has any early thoughts. Thanks CT

Didnt think you'd been away that long Toteboard. Hope you're okay anyway.

Off the top of my head:
Heat 1. Droopys Xavier won the Ballyregan Bob Memorial race over c/d and good effort in recent competition here, must always be respected. Droopys Diop the danger, as Sidaz Dippy finds trip demanding.
Heat 2. Musical Gaga fast winner c/d recently sure to be very popular, whilst Swift Signal usually thereabouts at the finish but Black Lamora gets lacks early motivation and Freedom Cache disappointing type, imo.
Heat 3. Fear Emoski looks a very good staying prospect. Ayamzabeauty, called some unkind names in the past making up for it now, chances and Golden Jacket finalist Crinkhill Jewel may have a slight chance.
Heat 4. Holbeins Champ won a recent competition over c/d and a strong type. Bids to assert late. Bubbly Swallow back to fair form after indifferent spell and game Swabys Princess both in the mix.
Heat 5. Killieford Khali recently won over c/d and should go well along with slightly enigmatic but nippy Tullna Hawk.
Heat 6. Blonde Reagan not the force of last year but could have a rare old tussle with the likeable Hometown Honey.

Enjoy your night and good luck!

Thanks for all you replies gents! I shall go down to Hove armed with your knowledge and with supreme confidence. Am looking at Emoski as banker and Hometown Honey as a play on the day. Need to sort out an AP bet before I go. Need to see prices obviously.

Loved Punchestown thanks PF. Never thought I could have such fun while losing so much money. Ballycasey set the tone early and Followmetocarlow finished me off. Great company and a warm welcome outweighed financial losses.  Am thinking of going to the last couple of days of Galway now:)

The weekend is very quiet in comparison to the midweek C T  but the benefits of the town on Fri/Sat night may outweigh that Laugh

Couldnt not have a bet on exciting prospect Fear Emoski but used a free bet so had to take 3/1. Might have some of the 7/2 elsewhere, too.

Other plays:
14/1 Droopys Xavier. Always been a nearly dog for me like St Leger, Golden Jacket and that last competition but good competition dog, worth including for one last go. If he reaches the final and breaks in best style, big chance.

16/1 Droopys Diop. Reckon best Coventry form very decent and thought best to keep on the right side of this one, at the price. Brings good 4 bend form to the table and think trip should be no problem.

50/1 Ayamzagirl, each-way. Convinced she is way overpriced after recently clocking a sub 35sec. when winning over 575m at Romford. Not done her best over c/d in the past but her price overshadows that and could easily do better.

Good luck!

Got plenty of interest antepost with heat 1 Xavier/Diop and heat 3 Emoski/Ayamzabeauty, so looking at later heats for a bet tonight.

At the prices, about 7/2 Bubbly Swallow and 7/1 Swabys Princess interest me. True, flashy run by Micheals Gift recently but likely to be short enough and not tried and trusted as the other two. Swallow looked a bit more like her old self last time and Swabys is a game old boot, in the nicest possible way and keeps going. Played them both.

Heat 5 and Killieford Khali sure to be popular after course and distance victory, priced accordingly though, so taking a chance on about 3/1 Tullna Hawk to get away well, focus and hold on

Good luck!

aayamzalad (former melodys ace) in the 8.50 at 6/1

1-2-3 all show early and could come together, fancy 6 to lead wide and could go clear
should stay if getting on the bunny, don't think it will back run these so needs a ping break.

how long are you persisting with this innovative new betting strategy? just strikes me as one that wouldnt have been very successful over a number of recent years, so wondered if this was an on going thing, or just a couple of weeks where you might have "variance" in your favour or what?

2/1 Xavier, 9/4 Gaga, 7/2 Dural, 7/2 Swallow, 5/4 Khali all gone but you can get 5/2 Diop, 4/9 Emoski, 7/2 Hawk and 2/1 Regan now

Interesting race after the last heat. Some decent dogs where a cases could be made for any of them. 3/1 Killieford Deal and 4/1 Tibetan Skies the picks for me.

Following race a match between Britania Ardbeg, useful when flying out and the more solid all-round Bubbly Rocky, imo.

Bridge Ruth looks a cut above her rivals in the lucky last. Will find this much easier than the Arc but you wont get rich on 8/13

When: 02 May 13 16:40
Seems strange having Monmore on RPGTV instead of Henlow. Two A1's the highlight, the first looks between Klockwork Korker and Vedfield Solid, the latter at 7/2 could be the percentage call. The following A1 should go to Final McCoy who beat Farloe Warhawk once. Mays Gold could follow him home.

Not betting though, just pen and notepad at the ready
