Whose is/was the best ?

Realised this morning that one of the reasons I am looking forward to Coventry dogs tonight is the racing commentator. I think he is quite an entertainer at heart and like most jobs, its not what you do its how you do it.  His use of terms like "the butchers apron" for trap 6 is novel and very much like Paul Cassel, he seems to think his comms have to be entertaining as well as informative.  Other commentators like Ozzie Osman and Errol Blythe prefer the "more informative" approach , which is not an indictment of their prowess in any way, indeed I would argue that within that category they are/were the best.

errol is good, (except for calling all dog "it"), he should stick to commentating only if you ask me

The Belle Vue commentator aint half bad. Good with the photo-finishes, too. Think it's easier from up in the gods directly on the line at tracks, not like studio where you have dodgy angles to deal with and probably on a small screen?
