Fahy hails Ted as the best of all his dogs

By Michael Fortune 4:21PM 5 APR 2013

IRISH track legend Tyrur Ted passed away on Tuesday after a lengthy battle with cancer aged ten.

PJ Fahy bought the then named Royal Emperor after displaying huge pace in his early races. It was a great decision and Fahy yesterday said: "He was the best I’ve ever had. He was a dream and we will miss him terribly.”

During a fabulous career Tyrur Ted won the Tote Gold Cup at Shelbourne and the Cashmans Irish Laurels at Curraheen Park in 2005 and stepped up in trip to win the Ladbrokes 600 at Shelbourne in 2006. But he also ran up in the Easter Cup, was twice a finalist in the Champion Stakes and was retired to stud after reaching the 2006 Laurels final.

He sired many classy trackers during his career but the son of Top Honcho and Watch The Market will be best remembered for his thrilling, swashbuckling style of racing.

How's things PF, heading down to HQ tonight but looking odds on to be smashed before I get there, an average card for Easter Cup semis imo. North Bound looks short enough at 6/4. You might laugh but i might have a few bob on Rag Rio, I can see carange at the first bend

Can't make it in tonight or next week Angry ffs not happy about it to be honest.

I wouldn't put you off him at all, think the dog is running real well. Hot Pursuit being out has helped Vic no end though, could have seen trouble between them going in opposite directions run up so was disappointed he ain't running.

If North Bound comes away he will win but it's a big if after the last 2 weeks, i wonder does he have some small problem they have not found. I really like Ashfield Impact's draw, obviously he needs to trap better too but hopefully he sweetened him up during the weeks, he literally was just stood still when boxes opened last week [didn't charge them or anything]. If he can get away he should lead the inside easy and then it depends where Adler and North Bound turn.

Anything else catch your attention? Forest Ralph a mile down in grade but doesn't seem to be running well

I didn't do the rest of the card and only had the quickest glance, being honest can't even remember most of the races, i'd be of no help [well even less than usual Laugh]
