8.26 ramodi, thought 3/1 with 3.65 was big.......4/1 now with Fred. Should lead round and its monmore clocks say it will not be stopping. 5 is a big danger if it turns handy. Good luck all
its ok patrick, won 1209.37 today i'll survive, but could have done with that and around the 3rd i thought i'd got the lot
not sure id have been in as good spirits if i hadnt had a winner before that !

providing he doesn't take somethings head off, it will be hard to keep him out of the first 3 in each round of the derby, severe lack of wides i am all over them

Last play for me in 10,11 to round off a good night make it two runners betting 3 to get the trap 3 smash and saving on 6 who has good early think one of these will lead off good luck all.

Seabass is a remarkable sporting story. He is already a great survivor. Incredibly, he once ran out on a public road and crashed into a passing car. The horse was uninjured, but there was €2,000 worth of damage done to the car! That’s what you call tough — the horse, not the car!

for the record spoke to the owners of Holdem Spy the dog has a badly split web which went coming off the last bend which probably explains why he hung up the home straight as for the comment about the cameras going on the knobs at the third bend notice you werent saying that about sunday when he beat a better class line up and the whole track erupted what a pillock.

yes bbc2 the rest is history.14 from 24 greyhound data rating of 147 if you owned greyhounds for another 30 years you wouldnt get one like him.by the way do you still masquerade as the bookmaker john skinner ripping off the genewral public?

quirky is a lot different to ungenuine that you referred to in your earlier post, he moved from a named trainer to a top trainer 14 from 24 is the history and a nasty injury was responsible for last nights events, racing needs these dogs that make the hairs on your neck stand up when you see them.

lock up,its just punter talk, every one of us would love to own both those dogs and i'd bet every one of us here enjoy watching them race,if you want to take offence thats up to you but i'd suggest if all you want is people to blow smoke up your a55 then owner/trainer orientated forums such as greyhoundscene is more for you, this is a punters forum.

thought about this again last night, before i just read the injury, and i would still have bet the 4/5 and 8/11. i'm happy it was a good bet to be honest. i thought the only way he would get beat was if he arrived at the bend whilst 5 was shuffled out wide and took spy with it meanwhile 2 or 3 got loose. i felt he could lose 5 lengths IR and still win, split web might explain it, even quirkyness though he doesnt do it too often looking at his record, not like ayamzagirl doing it every other week. just think as a bet was unlucky not to draw, was no offers IR. hope it was down to split web and he recovers quickly, super fast animal with unreal pace into the third, made the winner look a4 going into the 3rd.

you were ul not to draw for sure but was def not.. no offers IR imo i wasn't in the slightest bit shocked and away from Coventry i think evch he will throw in the odd one of those, just hope its never a dq i love the dog the quirk works for him
still some 100s left for the derby

i spoke to one of the lads at Coventry the other week they are on @400s thought i was top price 200s, i am pretty sure they will do all possible to get him there
make him a 50s shot tops tbh

i wouldnt race him again before the derby to be honest, especially with the injury now. month off, couple of trials / derby trial stakes race to make sure he gets there....no offence meant but if he keeps looking straight he will near enough have to eat the sand to be knocked out.

split webs used to mean one race a fortnight, when i was a boy at least, not sure if they have found a better way of stopping them splitting repeatedly now?

I thought he waited, my standard response for every dog from now on will be "he or she is the fastest and most genuine dog i've ever seen", that should save me from being branded a knocker, might mean i'm a sad opinionless **** but at least it will ensure i don't get the usual branding of knocking a dog

I think you're on to something there. It's a bit like Private Eye using tired and emotional for drunk and small but perfectly formed for gay. All the readers know what they mean but they can't be sued for libel.
In greyhound parlance very game in defeatis often pretty damning.
Any other such euphemisms?

Very, very good idea Miss Wales. That topic deserves its own thread where a bona fide phrase could be adopted by the majority so that club members can understand exactly what the opinion is leaving sensitive owners, connections and some trainers oblivious to upsetting remarks.
By the way lock-up, if a split web caused the dog to hang on the run-in, what do you think caused it to fight like a tiger just after the line? Perhaps a harsh remark from the dog alongside or perhaps a grain of sand up the nose?

in answer to the remark of non punters talking, lets hope all of you who think hes dodgy have got the minerals to lay him on here when he runs i for one will gladly take your money.

now your looking silly, is that regardless of price you want to bet him?
the dog can never make you look right, only make you look wrong if you are saying he is a million percent genuine and will NEVER ever do anything untoward...
i respect your heart and loyalty but you cannot win money punting with those traits

In my experience these sorts of dogs normally pay their way. Every dogs has his price. If I was on at 4/5, I'd have been tempted to lay it off at 1.5 pre race for some "free money"

lock up,i think you are being a bit naive tbh,id imagine most of the lads posting are big fans of your dog and want to watch him every time he runs, hes an absolute star of the sport and one that should be embraced for his quirks as it makes him box office,if you want to take offence at opinions of him thats up to you but like i said no-one is gonna blow smoke up your a55 on here.
Really hope hes ok today and look forward to him back in action asap

its all very well having dogs like this and farloe tango in the derby but how would you feel if your dog was impeded by such an animal and lost the race or qualification as a consequence......if they are not straight they should avoid competitions and nick opens where they can be moved around and kept interested....

agree those are the rules but whats the point putting dogs in a situation where quick runs...potential poor draws and familiarity will be encountered.......its a selfish act if they are either marked awkward or disqualified during the competition...ruining somebody else's dream...

Holdem Spy, first reaction watching race was, nine bob note red card waiting to happen,
but you can watch most of his races on greyhound data and he does NOTHING WRONG
everybody deserves benefit of doubt, after-all he only lost, and that's not a crime

starr,im not gonna go through all his races(i have every career run of the dog) and itemise each indiscretion but at some point or other, before last night, the dog has dwelled in front, bumped dogs he didnt need to,fought like a tiger after the line,to me thats not doing "nothing wrong" and this bol0x about owners saying where the sand burn happened is just that,so the dogs action changed off the last bend, yes thats right it did,he slammed the anchors on!
Ive never heard so much rubbish in my life that a split web cost a dog a race,at the rate adrenalin is coursing through them during a race they will try and run with a broken back as they dont feel it at the moment it happens.

The Dog is flying machine, but a flying machine with a kink... I wouldn't run him in the Derby, think more of switching him every run.... I didn't have a bet in the race, but he's worth backing at 5/1 against "Derby Dogs" but I wouldn't back him short against decent open class... It is a shame, I wish he wasn't but unfortunately the greyhound is a "dodge" I've owned a couple of them myself, both fast, but not as fast as this one!!!

I agree with Patrick's post 100% and I believe the main reason they keep him at Coventry is because he normally behaves himself there.
I couldn't for one minute envisage him working his way through 5 or 6 rounds of The Derby unscathed but if the owners are on at big prices then I guess we'll get to find out.
