I sent an e-mail to RPGTV last night about the crazy camera angles at Wimbledon, but it was not read out.

1/ Wiltshire called Lenny Ponder, Teddy. In fairness to him he looks very ill.
2/ He then referred to the Juvenile as a great FINAL 3 times !
3/ The hurdle winner was said to have smashed the track record. Not even close.
4/ No flow whatsoever between Hobbsy and new guy, but obv early days.
5/ Don,t think the 2 of them could have stood in a worse position to present the show from.

Come on lads, the only way is up !

Only Birch seems to have mentioned it in any detail.

Enzo is normally a decent broadcaster, I was surprised his timing was miles out and often just re-started sentences.

We see enough of Enzo on the tv, could they not have got a different face in?

I think that we expect it to be top professional broadcasting but, am I wrong in thinking we like a bit of rough and ready? RPGTV does that, its like being in your living room talking about dogs and that works in spades. I dont thionk everyone standing around in suits looking like they are trying to present a corporate event ever works.

Dog punters loved the old Live TV, loved the Sittingbourne broadcasts on a Sunday night from whateveritwascalled, and love RPGTV.

Trying too hard to justify?

Allow a bit of time for things to be improved but remember the finance for this is limited. Having to find more money in the future for the football rights they have bought Sky are now not that interested in financing coverage of greyhound racing and some other sports. Remember there have been considerable efforts made inside greyhound racing to get Sky coverage up and running again.

So allow time as I think some things will improve very quickly. How much good will Sky coverage have in encouraging potential sponsors being prepared to be interested in our major events?  Our top level open racing needs all the financial help it can get. Surely TV coverage (even the now more limited Sky coverage) can make sponsorship much more attractive to sponsors.

RPTV, despite some early criticism about the idea of running such a programme, overall looks to have been good for the sport and we are soon to see a trial of more evening action. So thank the people who have made these recent efforts. Do not be quick to criticise which is too often the case in our sport. However, I would say make fair comment about what can be improved. We now have Sky TV coverage when not long ago it seemed we may have lost it for good.

Fair enough. I think reading through that the point is RPGTV IS very much welcomed and respceted. Indeed, such is the quality of the programme on a lesser budget that SKy acutally cannot compete in terms of what a dog punter wants. It also has the 'sitting room' quality that could easilyb invite non-greyhound people into the sport. It is far more accessible for punters and viewers than the Sky show and should have been the model that the sport works on.

As said below, two FULL meetings, decent enough analysis, different guests, viewer input - Sky doesnt compete with any of that with the nonsense camera angles, stuffiness, and the feeling that it is not comfortable to watch
