Being aware this is not everyones cup of tea i will endeavour not to drone on re form that in all honesty we all know may not hold. My original thoughts before the event were that DROOPYS LORENZO could not be beaten, i had planned to have my absolutes on him thinking that the oposition was average at best, barring maybe LENSON JOHNNY, with DADDYKNOWSBEST a dark horse (dog!).
I refrained from playing pre comp after getting some sound advice off a good mate so as we speak i have no financial interest in the comp at all....Thank God!
Tonights race..
One offs are always tricky, and my view is that anything can happen and often does. Nicking a price is the key and i have attempted to look for a "wrong" price all day.
Westmead Meteor was impressive when i watched him beat Daddyknowsbest on the 2nd of March and has improved hugely since then, i was at a table near the owners on that night and the sheer joy shown once he had won was a pleasure to watch, they clearly think plenty of him. Rockview Royal is also a dog with plenty going for him, not least the draw, although seemingly needing to find time on the clock should he break in his familiar fashion that he has done in the last 2 rounds he would have to have a major chance.
Two dogs that went completely under my radar pre comp were Druidsabouttime and Durrow Lark....This can often be the case in comps but both deserve respect, Durrow Lark especially in my opinion. Both Lenson Johnny and Green Amigo could both be classed as finishers, with Lenson being the stronger of the two, however Lenson Johnny would need everything to fall right in my opinion, with Green Amigo possibly having the potential to have an early burst that has not been shown yet.
I have been drawn to Green Amigo to go well in the competition since highlighting his possible talents to VALUEMAN who owned Olivers Twist approx 6-12 months ago....even against being advised that he was a "raving loon" (apologies owners).
At the prices, and in a one off this is open, very open....and having been on the likes of SELBY BILL in the past i will plump for some value. Lets hope they all run well and return home safe and unbitten
