Have you learnt nothing Deptford? He wouldn't have been there for any combination of the following reasons:
1. He is only present when his team wins.
2. He was too busy at home counting his winnings from a major plunge that he had to enlist the help of One Eyed Joe to get all his money on for.
3. Was at Linda Jones' for tea.
4. Forgotten who he supports or who he is due to Walter Mitty tendencies.

Mary Harding trained one of the best staying bitches I've ever seen, First Defence, at that time. Also housed in her Burhill kennels was a slowcoach by the name of Graigue Punch. First Defence would have lapped him.
After labelling the dog 'a camel', the owners sent me some light-hearted, computer-generated caricatures in defence of their beast. The pictures of me weren't flattering, but it was all done in great fun and I've still got their correspondence in my garage. Excellent banter.
'Lacks a yard of top-class pace to the bend'. That's all I wrote. To this day, I still can't work out why the owner came up to me, and said, while removing his glasses: "Come on, outside. We'll settle this once and for all. My dog can't read, but I can." I stayed inside.
Lying count.... he wrote worse than that and I wasn't wearing glasses

I dont normally read his guff, but had time on my hands today. But I say, I say, I say, has anyone read the complete and utter tripe in the Pricewise column today page 96 of Racing Post (tonight first half of Round 2 Derby, Friday) tipping 2 dogs that will be over 50/1 on BF tonight

in the RP today under the "5 things we now know section" #3 "Garryglass Rodge is not a one dimensional sprinter" but ended the paragraph saying Rodge could develop in the mould of sprinters Tims Crow and Ningbo Jack.
