I know he is English owned and trianed [and they'll obviously want a crack at Wimbledon] but i can't help feel the perfect season for him would be the Easter Cup (550y), Betfair 600, Champion Stakes (550y) and Irish Derby (550y) all around Shelbourne

Gold Cup that's on at the moment, well they had changed that to 550y too but changed it back this year [never should have been changed in the first place]. The Larry Dunne is another good 525y stake for all aged dogs but that's it then.

I remember the gold cup being a 525 now you mention it,glad its back at that distance with the loss of easter cup to the 550y.

The 600 used to be a fav comp of mine when i was a kid.I remember when i lived over with you, times were tough, the old man was struggling for work and we were always a bit skint, anyway me and the old girl went to enniscorthy midweek and i'd had a bit of luck. I wanted to go shelbourne on the saturday but dad would never have gone if i was paying so i gave money to mum and told her to tell dad she'd won it on the tote.
We went to shelbourne and all week i fancied castleland dream for my life, planned to have a big bet for me at the time at about 13/2,the dogs came on parade and ive never been so underwhelmed at looking at a dog,he was a long skinny thing, all leg and no hair on his back legs,i thought he looked a mess, halved my bet, obviously he won! Went home winning but gutted...

600y around Shelbourne is simply a great trip and test of a dog, you've got the long run to the bend [whole straight] and then the long run hom to the 2nd winning line, there is no hiding place . The big 600 is one of my fav comps of the year.

If Albert Draper had still been around he'd had loved that campaign. Enjoyed running his dogs over the water.

Didnt seem to effect Farloe Warhawk when he romped home Irish Derby night and Ballmac Eske ran a blinder Night of Stars. See where you're coming from if it was a long, arduous campaign though
