The Game was sold out, the land the stadiums were on was worth fortunes ,pockets have been lined ,certainly in the case of GRA tracks...Add bad publicity ,sadly some of it so true ,sport could only go one way ,but the decline is beyond what even the best
of pessimists could have predicted ..Can only think the Don is on the same route ,in what must nearly be the final nail of british greyhound racing as we know it ![]() |

Too true, casemoney. I will never forget what the GRA did to Clapton after buying the track. They simply ran it into the ground before selling it off. They have repeated the exercise over and over again. Whatever chance Greyhound Racing had was simply taken away by this organisation.

You are probably correct about afternoon dogs in Betting Shops. However is still a place in the greater scheme of things for evening entertainment, and people still attend in their numbers. Not necessarily informed punters but a mix of die-hards, younger people who want an adrenalin rush, and like me to talk with a few older guys about the good old times. No amount of bent machines will ever replace that |
