SIS are gonna produce the programme and make it available and a) SKY will show it and b) it will be shown in betting shops

looks to be around 22 per year.

they are hoping the first will be mid March being joint Springbok/Juvenile night.

Likely show quality will be lower but better than what we have now. Likely it will not finish past 9.20pm and racetimes will dovetail with horse races at night meetings so both can be watched

it just is dog racing, no hiding behind things, no two people reading the prices to you, just dogs, opinion, a bit of a laugh, dogs, opinion, bit of a laugh

I flipin think its great. well, if they stopped the amateurish email/twatter thing

its all down to money so the show should take stock of its wage bill like all other campanies have over the last 3 years
hobbys front the show

They are just shafting the non BAGS tracks again.Giving the product away for free isnt good imo.If SIS wanted to do that they could have used RPGTV and either left it off of Sky or Sky could have paid.

so this means from march all bags and evening races will be on tv?

No engl,it means Sky will still show open race meetings just as before. The only differences will be they will start earlier and finnish earlier to tie in with the shops and the other main differences are Sky will no longer have to pay the tracks to show those meetings and also it will only be BAGS tracks and Wimbledon who will be eligible to get the meetings.
So the Scottish Derby is out,Henlow Derby out,Donny St Ledger out etc etc. Some of these big meetings is where the non bags tracks make their money which keeps them afloat and now they will struggle to get sponsors(Bettor have already withdrew from the scottish derby).

awful decision, so much more could have been done. No one goes down the bookies anymore. At 9.15 its just full of weirdos on the machines/drunks waiting for the Indian to sort their food out

Scottish Derby was offered by SKY but had to be a Tuesday, owner said no, needs to be Sat or if not then Fri. So not on SKY this year

Swayne i think its more a case of Billy not being a puppet to the bookies imho. The tracks used to get a substancial payment for each meeting shown from Sky but since the bookies/SIS offered the product away for free then the only money they would have got was 7k from the GBGB(that can ill be afforded).Moving the meeting from a saturday to a tuesday would have drastically effected the crowd most probably from about 5k down to about 2k possibly 3k meaning at £7 a person to get in it would COST the track a substancial amount in the region upward of about £10k.
Not forgeting that Billy is also a bookie at the track and it would also effect his turnover and that of the other books.

fairplay middleman.

The RP reported previously that a SKY track was paid £7.5k fee for appearance. Agree re Saturday, I think the number of English much reduced if was Tuesday, as you say.

It is very popular with the Irish Swayne.I think it would be them who wouldnt come(aswell as some English). Also usually the winners like a good old party if an Irish one wins it.
Pretty sure i read somewhere that Hennesy was bringing Barefoot Allstar back to defend it this year if it is on.

agree middleman, also saw that re Allstar, and also potentially Priceless Sky, who looked a real beast late on last year
