the bitch is a absolute freak and what makes it more impressive is the fact she is a bitch because history says 90% of the best greyhounds ever are dogs ,and imo she will go down as the best bitch ever to race no doubt about it

no pf,genuinely never heard of her, dont really read the data forum much these days which is where i would have no doubt got wind of her.

Great to watch such a top class bitch go about her work, suppose its time to brush up on my ozzie form!

I have suggested to my misses that we may have to go there in a few years if it goes t1ts up over here, she said "why?",i said "well its either that or i have to find a job", " i'll make a start on the packing then" she said

as her form below reads she has won 34 from 41 starts including 6 GP1,s.
And Patrick if u do come to aus your eyes will open as greyhound racing is booming in aus with numerous gp1's ranging from 100,00 to 350,000 to the winner. If your lucky enough to breed or buy a good dog there is big money.
Unfortunately just like in UK the Irish and english have bought the corporate betting agencies and winning punters are limited to win a sausage, unless the price of sausages increase.

Truthful - I was reading some old g data threads yest (not so old, perhaps 12 mths) and I was amazed when talking about sires and broods, it was this won €90k in career, that won $77k, this won $50k that won $110k, and they were not even anywhere near the top of the tree, then remembered that at an exchange rate of 1.5 now it's proper money many you guys are winning, unless you winn Derby here you're probably never going to win $50k equivalent. Unbelievable.

MIATA SET TO MAKE OZ HISTORY

07/02/2013
With even luck in running, Miata will become Australia’s highest earning greyhound on Saturday night.

The Paul Stuart trained champion is at least eight lengths faster than every other chaser in the Group 1 Sky Channel Galaxy final and her class should see her create a record breaking win in front of what promises to be a bumper crowd.

With approximately $35,000 on offer for the placegetters, the race will be a competitive affair.

Veteran chaser, Kalden Mayhem has drawn the yellow vest, two boxes outside Miata, who appears ideally drawn.

The Troy Murray trained chaser will be hoping to position on the rails early with the likely early leader being Eric Campana’s Travel Bug Miss or Miata. Politician is drawn to be a place contender, whilst Atelier could be a ‘smokey’ for the exotics.

West Australia’s darling Miata has currently $591K in the bank. Saturday night’s victory will earn her another $80K. This will see her overtake High Earner, who currently holds the record for the most

prizemoney won by an Australian greyhound at $610K.

Miata won the group 1 race at Cannington last night to make her the highest stake money winner of all time in Australian greyhound racing. Her record reads now 47 starts for 40 wins 2 seconds and two thirds.
She is recognised as the greatest greyhound to have race in Australia since the mighty Zoom Top who raced in the late 60's.
Her sire Bombastic Shiraz was last week inducted into the Victorian hall of fame.
Being a great admirer of Westmead Hawk, and having watched most of his races, it would be stupid of me to make a comparison as he was also a champion. But greyhounds of this calibre stimulate the growth of greyhound racing, and deserve a mention.
The only negative comment that I can make for Miata is the fact the competition has not been great for fear of her domination, but on the positive side you can only race against what you compete against.

Reaching $1 million is within this fawn dynamo's capacity and the crowning glory to her career is a potential clash with Irish star Razldazl Marilyn. Owner-trainer Dolores Ruth is in Australia on holidays and, at Wentworth Park on January 19, threw out the ultimate challenge to Paul Stuart.

When asked on Sky Racing "what would you do with your last $50?'', the effervescent Ruth did not hesitate: "Have it on Marilyn to beat Miata in a match race." Fighting words indeed.

Within minutes, the timing of a match race at Cannington between Miata and Razldazl Marilyn was mooted and will be confirmed once the Clonmel 790 m track record holder's local quarantine requirements have been met.

Greyhounds WA CEO David Simonette said the clash would pack Cannington.

"Both Paul and Dolores are committed to the contest and it may well be a swansong for both bitches … can you imagine the emotion of Miata's farewell at Cannington?" Simonette said. "A winner's purse of $30,000 has been suggested and by the time the race can be scheduled, Miata's earnings might just be within reach of $1m.

"Cannington is the perfect venue for both dogs. It's Miata's home track and the locals will support her to a man. Razldazl Marilyn's travelling will be less than if the race was held in an eastern state and we will surely pack the track given decent weather."

Cannot see the logic in a match race with the Irish champion, as Miata will have the edge on home turf and is the record holder at Cannington.
Miata contests the Gp 1 Zoom Top at the meadows tonight. She is 1.10 fav. to win with prize money of 75,000au to winner, which would stretch her prize money further as she is currently Australia's highest ever stake money winner.
Her current record reads as 47 starts for 40 wins 2 seconds and two thirds. She has broken 7 track records.
It would be worth the mention that had she contested and won sprint races her prize money would be a lot more as prize money for sprint races in finals are mostly double or more.

Miata let down her performance with a disappointing 3rd place in tonights race. Not at any stage was she going to win and came home strongly with a below par effort. She collected 11,000au and may contest heats of a gp1 next Saturday night at the meadows

Hey "Truthful" I am sceptical about your name! What a load of hogwash you posted 'below par effort' you said about Miata's 3rd @ the Meadows last night.Dissapointing you said, wow, yes she was beaten but far from dissapointing in fact her run can only be discribed as outstanding.Firstly let me say that the time the race was run in was the fastest run @ this track in 12 months and she was beaten less than 1.5 lengths, also she was hampered for a large section of the back straight when 8 off the lead.I was on track and have disected the video,my conclusion is the the run was "outstanding".And don't forget they are not machines, she was not entitled to finish in the money after what happened in the run.It was a performance of a champion.

Everyone to their opinion. I post my opinions and I don't knock other people's opinions. In your own admission you layed her at 1.25 because of the risk factor, yet backed it at 1.35. WHY?
As you described she was 8 lengths off the lead down the back, a position of a true champion should never have been in yet struggled to get by some very ordinary stragglers. She did very little early and was therefore entitled to run on.
I am a great supporter of Miata, and as I have said several times before she is the best bitch to have raced since Zoom Top, which incidently I witnessed Zoom Top race. My years in greyhound racing has been a lot longer than you have been involved and I believe my opinion should not be criticised.

Truthful,I too saw Zoom Top race numerous times,I vividly recall  outstanding performances many times @ Harold Park. And I don't know if you have been involved "a lot longer " than me but that is irrelevant. Also I backed her back @ 1.39 after laying her @1.25,why you ask? It's because of what I assessed her correct price, every runner has a win price and lay price I believe in this instance I got it right.Good luck to all greyhound people.

Miata won her heat of the Super Stayers last night at the meadows increasing her prize money by another 7000au.
In a very disappointing run again given the fact five dogs ran faster time than she, I cannot see her winning the final on her previous two performances. Champions can always turn around and make a liar of you, but she appears to be either disinterested or cannot handle the meadows track.
Will keep you posted on next weeks final which I think carries a prize of 100,000au to the winner.

Miata's career may have come to an end. She will not contest Saturday nights staying championship at the meadows. Taken from the GRV website is the following interview from the trainer:

West Australian superstar Miata has been scratched from the Group 1 Macro Meats Superstayers after sustaining a shoulder injury during training this week.

The winner of 41 races from 49 starts with an Australian record of $690,000 prizemoney was a $1.80 favourite for this weekend’s $145,000 feature, with her scratching set to severely impact betting.

Trainer Paul Stuart expressed his extreme disappointment this morning in having to scratch his champion greyhound.

“She tore a shoulder while galloping in preparation for Saturday night’s final. It was just an incidental thing and unfortunately she is not quite 100 per cent fit so I won’t risk racing her.”

“It is really disappointing but this happens in racing sometimes. She will need 3-4 weeks off and then we will reassess where she is at,” Stuart said.

When asked if this could be the last we see of Miata on the racetrack, Stuart said it was a possibility but it depends on how she pulls up from the injury.

“If she comes on-season she will probably be retired or if she shows me that she isn’t as interested in racing then I won’t race her again. Her welfare is, and will always, be my number one priority.”

MIATA returned to contest the Gp1 Sandown Cup winning her heat and narrowly beaten in the $125000 final. The trainer decided before the series this was to be her final race start and is to be retired. A tribute to Miata is on you tube for those interested in what has been the greatest stayer ever to race in Australia:
