I think they would benefit from a more consistent schedule: I've planned to go a couple of times on 'regular' nights only to find the meeting's not on. Having said that I went yesterday morning and thoroughly enjoyed it (helped by showing a profit for a change!) but there wasn't a great turnout.

It was worth going for Harry Findlay's commentary, especially for Holdem Spy's race which was brilliant and showed the blokes enthusiasm for the game.

hows the tote doing there

It's the one track I've been to recently where it is worth looking at, although I only bet £20 or £30 generally. On Saturday morning there was only around £300 a race in the win pool so anything much bigger than my betting would have swamped it. On my other visits it's been pretty strong and the dividends have been comparable to SP on shorter priced dogs- unless it's got a 'cute' name!

absolutely agree chris, the small punter can actually play the win pool just fine at cov,the only track ive been too since walthamstow where a 10er win doesnt crush the pool

£300 in win pool is much much better then before

Could be me being daft but I didn't see any sort of queue at the windows to think it would be anywhere near that strong.

Its now Fri, Sat  & Sun evenings up until the end of the year.  Next year, its going to be Tue, Fri & Sat evenings for Jan/Feb.  The problem they have is that speedway race on Fridays and stock cars/bangers on some Saturdays and they draw much larger crowds, so obviously, have precedence.

Last night, I would guess the tote pools in total averaged £1500 per race ... decent crowd.

Nice one Ian; do many Coventry races end up on You Tube?
Report IanP November 26, 2012 7:22 PM GMT
Not really.  The hurdle race from Sat is on Greyhound-data as are most of Holdem Spy's races.

I'm trying to forget the hurdle race; I foolishly backed the lunatic in trap 1!Grin
