Ollie Bray’s Paradise Madison (Head Bound/ Paradise Alanna) proved beyond any doubt that he is a flying machine. He almost replicated last week’s astonishing 27.92 run when winning his second round heat of the Comerford Cakes National Puppy Stake at Shelbourne in a brilliant 27.96 in wet conditions. Paradise flew out of the inside trap, though emerging a little crooked, and he flew up to the bend ahead of Skirty Crash and Nippy Girl. The latter pair were involved in big trouble on the bend and the latter hit the ground and it resulted in Dave Buckley owned Paradise Madison entering the back straight three lengths clear from Leamaneigh Turbo. From here it was exhibition stuff as Paradise raced away to win by nine lengths from Leamaneigh Turbo in 27.96 with Fear Big Star another five and a half lengths third. Next best on the clock was the Tim O’Donovan trained Melodys Gamble (Royal Impact/ Talita Beauty) which really caught the eye as he took it up from Scolari Express between the final bends and then ran on strongly to win by three and a half lengths from big finishing Skywalker Legend in 28.43. The other heats were won by Airforce Fear (Ace Hi Rumble/ Honey Sue) in 29.08, Jacksallstar (Crash/ Go Getemgirl) 28.74, Farloe Buddy (Hondo Black/ Farloe Lass) 28.73 and Leamaneigh Story (Ace Hi Rumble/ Turbo Flight) 28.65. |
