Nice turn out for minor Category Three Stayers Trophy with just £750 up for grabs in Friday's final.

That's a far cry from the £10k Smiler Jack scooped when winning the Champion Stakes over course and distance, but this pot isnt guaranteed to be his. True, would be a surprise if he didnt go through from the middle heat but in heat 1 we have Brave The Times, Bubbly Jaytee and heat 3 Lenson Ginger, Bubbly Ebony. Could end up a competitive decider. Good racing!

Yeah, i'm tempted to go Coral too but dont fancy sitting through the graded races inbetween heats, equates to half hour between races. If i do, probably stay on for Notts, Elektra, Phanter etc, then away to my karaoke night and a pint. Good job i got an understanding missus! Laugh

Smiler Jack wins easily. Like him, he was a the turning point in my betting year. Damage had already been done though and would have to have a golden streak final few weeks to end the year in profit. Best hope an exceptional Night of Stars. St Leger, Eclipse, Oaks and National Sprint could help a late rally
