I have decided to post my Australian Greyhound Selections here
I posted a meeting here earlier http://community.betfair.com/greyhounds/go/thread/view/94094/29467493/nowra-greyhounds-australia-311012---my-approach?sdb=1&pg=last#525636671
But thought that it'd be easier to put all my meetings into one thread
The first meeting was a poor result with a loss of 41 units from a 101 unit outlay, I have started with a hypothetical 500 unit bank
I will post all future meetings and results as replies
I have also started posting them as a blog here - http://community.betfair.com/hollymount_hero/blog/?message=WW91ciBwb3N0IGhhcyBub3cgYmVlbiBzdWJtaXR0ZWQh
Feel free to reply or comment, it is all about sharing ideas and improving!
Race 1 I think we can Race 1 a bit early on here 8 - has been flying on country tracks and is in a top kennel, looks the winner. 1 - has ran an ok time here and has the gun draw 5 - has been close in good races the last 2 weeks 7 - perennial place getter, one for multiples but also a good lay opportunity.
Bets Win bet on 8 (20 units) Quinella 8/1-5 (5 units, total cost 10) Boxed quinella 1-5-8 (2 units total cost 6) Trifecta 8/1-5-7 (1 unit, total cost 6) Boxed trifecta 1-5-7-8 (1 unit total cost 24 units) Lay 7 to make 10 units Total Outlay 66 units (plus lay exposure)
Race 2 8 - was a very fast heat winner and looks to have a bit on these 3 - a slow beginner who just keeps on coming
Bets Place bet on 3 (40 units)
Race 3 7 - looks to have the right credentials but may be a risk at the price to win, however it appears an absolute moral to finish in the top 3
Bets Place bet on 7 (40 units)
Race 4 A tricky maiden heat with some inconsistent runners and newcomers 4 - looks the winner on trial form
Bets Too many unknowns, no bets
Race 5 5 - steps up to 600m, a distance which he appears to be begging for and may represent value 7 - appeared to be going to win by panels last week before copping a check, the form is no indication of the run 8 - made a great middle distance debut in an easier class, leading all the way.
Bets A small speculator on 5 to win (10 units) Boxed quinella 5-7-8 for 2 units (total cost 6 units)
Race 6 A race full of enigmatic dogs who can all gallop on their day, way too hard.
Bets No bets
Race 7 Another tough race with a couple of speedy conveyances drawn the inside having their first go at the distance, prefer to watch these ones
Bets No bets
Race 8 Another tough race, 7 & 8 would be my preferences but they may have trouble crossing the field from the tricky draw with a bend start. Leave me out.
Bets No bets
Race 9 The second of the maiden heats, not a betting race at all
Bets No bets
Race 10 This race looks to be a mad charge into the first turn. 6 looks the winner if he begins as well as he has in the past but will start favourite and may be a touch risky given the ability of dogs inside him to begin well.
Bets No bets
Total Outlay - 162 units
Good luck and good punting!

Race 1 In a race full of average or slow beginners the run to the first turn will be crucial, on form 6 only needs a touch of luck in the run to blow this field away. Trained in a top kennel and capable of fast times. The main danger looks to be the 3 who's experience at the track sits her in good stead.
Race 2 Not an easy race being a final that had heats conducted elsewhere. 8 has really found form of late but may struggle to cross the field to lead, 1 is a speedy customer who looks well boxed, 5 has an element of class. I think the winner will come from these three. The rougher place hope looks to be 3 who is strong and will keep coming right to the line.
Bets Boxed quinella 1-3-5-8 for 5 units ( total cost 30 units) Boxed trifecta 1-3-5-8 (total cost 24 units) Race outlay 54 units
Race 3 A very tough affair, whilst I'd lean to 1-8-3-6 as possibilities in that order I find it way too hard to invest here
Bets No Bets
Race 4 I like two dogs in this race. 2 only needs a modicum of luck in the running to dominate the affair whilst 8 will keep coming and may get a nice run early courtesy of the speedy dog in box 6.
Bets Win bet 2 (20 units) Win bet 8 (5 units) Race outlay 25 units
Race 5 A race decimated by scratchings and full of unknowns at the track, I like 6 to beat 1 but can't invest here
Bets No bets
Race 6 Love the look of 5 here, talented chaser who should lead. I was impressed with the run of 3 last week and it represents value.
Bets Win bet on 5 (40 units) Quinella 3&5 (5units) Trifectas 3-5/3-5/Field & 3-5/Field/3-5 (Total cost 24 units) Race Outlay 69 units
Race 7 Not really the sort of race to invest on, 8 looks the main hope but I'm prepared to risk at this stage. If I had to bet I'd be betting each way on 3 who should be around 8/1. But this race is not for me.
Bets No bets
Race 8 In an open affair there looks to be a few hopes. I'm leaning towards 7 who looks to be over the odds but will need some room early.
Bets Win bet 7 (5 units)
Race 9 A hard race to nail a winner but I like the look of 1, especially for a place.
Bets Place bet on 1 (40 units)
Race 10 Another reasonably open affair, I think the winner could come from 5 or 8 but not with any confidence. I think the 6 is under the odds and presents a great lay opportunity.
Bets Lay 6 to make 15 units
Total bet outlays - 252 units
Current bank before meeting (451 units) -49

You are definitely right, but Woody's the man I'm afraid.
Its an insult that you thought anyone would actually take any notice of your tips, most of the judges on here get on before they spout out, they dont bet on every race and they usually match the selection with its price. They also probrably work a lot harder than yourself to come up with the requisite selection.
Why bother telling the world ?
Probably wasting my timeYou are definitely right, but Woody's the man I'm afraid. Its an insult that you thought anyone would actually take any notice of your tips, most of the judges on here get on before they spout out, they dont bet on every race a

Feel free to post your opinion Hollymount Hero, i'm not sure if anybody on here bets Aussie greyhounds but that don't mean you can't post your thoughts on the races.
Good Luck.
