Popped out, hit the front and lost his action turning into the back straight when a length clear.

Don't know if you noticed but the race was delayed for 6 - 7 minutes after  the track had been "heavily watered" and the track staff waited for the puddles to clear Confused

It was interesting to note that a number of track staff were on the track immediately after the race at the exact spot where Lil Risky appeared to lose his action Confused

Will be interesting to see how he goes in the final now he's had a look round Wink

thanks CAPPO, as i first thought ..indeed the dog looked as if it had gone lame just of the second bend..a dodgy patch of ground

on the track would seem to be the reason..i agree i will have to get my losses back in the final...glasgow.

'Heavily Watered' is an understatment. There were puddles everwhere. This nonsense needs looking into. Its hard enough backing winners with a level playing field.

Hi Glasgow I was at Monmore, Lil Risky broke moderate but showed great pace to just lead at the bend, it was 1 1/2 lengths clear at the 2nd when it completely lost its action, the track had in my opinion been heavily overwatered just before this race and thats why I tyhought it lost its footing, as no other dog touched it, if it shows same opace in final its a good thing.

tbf Lil Risky did everything perfectly and only just beat Manilla who didn't get a run, don't think the best dog won on the day but wd risky backers
