UK Greyhound racing is dying and it's so sad to see. Top tracks shutting down, abysmal prize money and now the Star looking like it's going to close down - such a shame! I have to confess I haven't read the 'paper in ages as my interest in dog racing has waned over the years as the local tracks to me have closed down, but I have fond memories of buying the publication in my late teens, and dreaming of which bloodlines I would use or which pups I would buy if I could ever afford to.

Unfortunately, even when the game was prospering the one thing it could never sustain was a specialist Greyhound publication.  "The Greyhound Express", "The Greyhound Owner" and "The Greyhound Magazine" are just a few of the publications that have fallen by the wayside.  Now it seems "The Greyhound Star"....very sad.

their customer service shoddy. i paid an overseas subsription for a year... only two copies ever landed... at least the sporting press arrives, even if it is a bit late....

I tried to get a job there once and got no response, reckon that's where they slipped up! Wink. To go out of circulation would be a shame though. With the Sporting Life and Greyform never making it, it doesnt look good

When I was in my early twenties I owned a very well bred bitch that turned it's head and was only A7 class. A mate of mine emailed Floyd Amphlett asking for his advice on whether he thought she was worth breeding from and he sent a very helpful, informative email back - which was v decent of him.
