Amazingly had to bury James (Centaur Decree) in my garden today - unfortunately at the young age of 7 the last and fastest Arc winner at the Stow has also been cruelly cut down like the great stadium. He'd had a great life in retirement in newmarket, living next to Frankels stud - having watched him gallop 200 yards around a paddock at top flight on thursday, the thought of having to put him to sleep today is an unbelievable nightmare. I'll never believe it but he was riddled with cancer in his spleen - it burst and the options were limited to say the least. I'm sure he'd like to thank everyone at Imperial Kennels who helped and believed in him - we had some great times. He always fancied the gig leading the parade at the first arc in the new stow - perhaps one night out at the Waltham Forest planning farce and he lost the will to fight. I know the feeling...

know what it is like to lose a dog , it tears you apart
look on thge bright side
your dog was happy and led a happy life, unlike some greyhounds
some people dont understand that dogs are better than a lot of human beings
they are loyal and a true friend

Sorry to hear. Was a great dog and remember him winning at the wonderful Stow on several occasions. Probably had a wild drink with connections after one of those in the downstairs bar.
Sounds like he had a great, if far too short, retirement.
