I got 1K upto 24K in an afternoon. Horses though not dogs.

I then lost 11K in one race the next day, a bunch finish at Hamilton and the 11/4 fav won by a nose. 5 horses finished within half a length of each other but the jolly got it on the nod, that was a right kick in the nuts to say the least.

How long before Birchy adds to this? I can picture it, went around all the shops, £50 here, £100 there, had fortunes on one in a Plumpton seller at 5-1, backed into evens, couldnt watch the race because I had promised to take my nieces to the zoo, the suspension was killing me, stood to win £20 grand, could not get a signal on my phone to listen to the commentary, saw a 10 year old girl talking on a good phone, swaggered over and took it off her, climbed up a tree to get a better receiption, went mad when it jumped the last well clear, gave the girl her phone back and £1 to buy some sweets, won enough to keep me in Chinos for life

Mine was just over 12 grand when Hawk won his first Derby, another big one was having just over a grand running on to Get On Blackie at Walthamstow, he won at 8s, beating Siesta Frisby, that was the loudest cheer ever, the video still makes me laugh, one that got away was £26 grand if Riston Lady won at Goodwood, beat a short head, 1982, nearly cried, laugh about it now

Not in same league as all you pro gamblers and über judges

Best won £4.5K

Nott about 12 years ago backed 7 out of 8 winners all at decent prices average steak 200 quid won about £4.5K and the other finished second at 7-2, it was one of the unluckiest seconds I have ever seen

Worst

Derby final nite when Some Picture won

Was about £2.5K down backed about 7-8 losers

Was about to put £1.5K on some picture at 4-6 but bottled it and decided losing £2.5 was enuff

Had then planned to put £1K winnings on savvy dog in cons final, it was a good 4 bend stayed but not much early pace, pinged out led up and won 8L. Can't remember it's name went on to win the Irish derby next year

O well lost £2.5K and could have won 500 quid had I not lost my bottle

Best win was a £1000 EW double (Online, shops and friends) on 2 horses in BAD EW races. First one won at 10/1 and the next wss 11/2 against a 1/5 shot with 8 runners. The 1/5 had yellow colours ridden by Richard Johnson and pulled up after 3 fences. FRANTICALLY on the phone to anyone who I knew was good for it offering Evs in the run but the first I rang had even 8k with me so I won £60K

Biggest loss was unreal. Got behind, not a great deal about 2k and got the chevvy chase of chevvy chases and had £5k on one of Eaterbys at Yarmouth at 9/4 and it won but I was still behind.

The end of the story is this

That night I must have been grumpy and the mrs said whats up with you. I said nothing andy way she went on and I said Ive had a nightmare alright. So it was how much, how much how much, and I said, "Just under £25k. There you go. Now you know why Im in a mood"

She sat there and then after about 20 secs which doesnt sound long but it is when youve just told the mrs youve done your nuts in, she said, "Are we still going out for tea tonight?" I just burst out laughing.

We celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary yesterday :)

PS, it only stopped because my bank suspended my card due to the amount of money going in Betfair. I could have done £100k in as easy as anything.

Laugh pocket pairs,

my win on the acca was pure luck, i went ot meet a mate from work and had a quid left for the bus home, another friend of ours came in the bookies and offered me a lift home so i quickly put a £1 acca on the weekend footie Laugh

played footie on the saturday and sat down to check the results Excited, could not beleive it
rushed round to the coverdale shop and handed in the slip and got told to come back monday for the 6k but heres the £264 extra ( bet was £6,264 in total )

went the stow everynight for a few years off that and had some great nights.

Didnt cop but will tell the tale anyway.

20 odd years ago gambling mad Chinaman used to be in our local Korals everyday, big handicap at Newmarket about to go off, he runs into the shop, scribbled a bet out, shout to me to give him 3 numbers, I shout them out, I said put me the same on......a furlong out he is shouting like a looney, he had put a 40 straight tricast on, 1st and second were clear of the field, Pat Eddery a legnth up in third dropped his hands last 30 yards and got done a Shd on the line for third.....the tricast paid £6600,  Ive never forgiven Eddery for that.

Listening to radio , go to enter lay back but press wrong button and enter back for a tenner

Matched at 1000 ,SHHIT

Turn off radio next race on ATR

About half later glance at TOTAL AVAILABLE
