ive been a friend! ive been very good to this bunch of people! what have i got in return over the years? f**ked for money, at the end of some friendships, hated or disliked at the end of others. some of these people have stood in bars and VOTED if they liked me or not! out of this group of friends, ex friends and and people who just vaguely know of me, TWO put there hands up in a show of friendship! 2!!!!!!!!!!!! one of these two goes in a room and whispers so i cant here what hes doing! let me tell you of some of the people who didnt put there hand up.... a nice guy! does a lot for the greyhound industry! this nice guy who didnt think it worthy to put hes hand up in friendship, over 3 or 4 years of having MY friendship I PUT 200K... 300K IN THE MANS POCKET! i introduced him to a bloke he wouldnt have known from adam! he got bombs!!!! i marked hes card to so many winners if you hadnt have been there.... well you wouldnt have believed it. at the end of this friendship he was watching a A7 at hall green and wouldnt have said tata if the race hadnt finished! a nice guy.... the bloke whos party it was, he hacked hes computer to see what he was up to a year or so earlier!!!!!! nice bloke!!! bet they was all singing **** by yar telling one another how NICE everyone is! i aint nice, ive got a big mouth, im loud. i overpower people i realise this! but everyone ive associated with ive put plenty of money in there pocket, ive never had a pal over! ive one friend..... he knows who he is.... and hes as mad as me!!!! MY POINT!!!! FRIENDSHIP IS LIKE A SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE....... ITS GOONA END PAINFULLY!

Personally speaking,i've been very lucky to have made two very good friends through this forum(czechbet and tobe),i think to keep friends you need to be a good judge of character in the first place and so you become friends with the right type of people?
If a person has integrity,then they attract the right type of person normally,the shysters or hangers on will attempt to weasel their way in and thats when your judge of character comes into play,if you're a good judge of character they're gone before they are sat at the table with you,if you're a poor judge of character,the shysters are nicking the chips of your plate and you end up having to stab them in the hand with your fork.
The secret,i think,is dont let them sit at the table with you in the first place,everyones a winner then.

only met Jerry once around 6/7 years ago at a friend of his/mine anniversary party in London, (he's just got back from Dubai), when Al introduced me to him almost his first words were "what'd you like to drink"? loud yes, generous yes but a good laugh and proper character.
I had the pleasure of jerry's company numerous times up the office in the good auld days and tried to out shout him once or twice at the Stow to no avail, hes a very very confident and generous individual. If you asked his opinion of a certain dog or the make up of a race hed tell you how it was straight. There was many a time where i fancied a dog and hed say look at the race again and tell me if A was faster than B to the bend and more often than not hed be right. Many a time he'd buy coffees, cakes and sannies while we were doing the videos/punting win lose or draw. Id go as far to say that i agree with Stow in saying that it sounds as if jerry is not the best judge of character.

Your true friends in life are the ones who are their when you lose a loved one or when you are ill. Twice this has happened to me in my life losing my dear mum and when i suffered with a blood transfusion in my 20's. That is when you know who the good people are, away from gambling, very much appreciatied.
