By:

By:
don't know ps
By:
was on here last night, but its now 1.8 to bet and 2.0 to lay. have a look, its the market under greyhound derby 2012, decent money traded 2.64 and 2.54
![]() dont know where the prices were from, assumed they were about in the industry |
By:
£1000 matched at over 6/4
![]() wish i got a bit of that , didnt see the betting until this afternoon |
By:
jeez,i looked with books n all addy after you posted!
By:
looks like i did get a good bet, think its a genuine 4/5 chance - 5/4 you win a bit of shrapnel with jt favs, 4/5 you lose a bit, 5/4 and he is outright fav, cha ching, 6/4 + rude not to!
By:

Corrupt, how can they go 6-1 into 6/4 in the derby final?
By:
100% corrupt .. was 9/2 with 30 seconds before the race .. Will Hill obviously was set to loose a lot on the name the fav market ... so just paid there way out of it
By:
was filth betfair sp a true reflection of the price at 4/1
By:
am wondering who led it... but betting to 130% just before the off in the biggest race of the year is a total and utter disgrace... even if there was a coup on the 'who will be fav', they shud be knocking he other prices out, cos im shocked that the weight of money in a novelty type mkt can screw up the derby mkt....
By:
comedy all round, was it the books who know the track is closing they wanted a big payoff?
By:
does anyone know how much was in the market when it closed
By:
if the big bookmakers have not been hit betfair should have a good look to see if the people backing trap1 had any links to the wimbledon bookmakers
By:
what bookmakers had a market for return fav,as i only saw the 1 on betfair.yes they do need to look into it,and whos idea it was to form such a market.
By:
i work for a bookie shop and yesterday morning a stranger came in wanted 5.000 on farloe to be fav he got knocked back to 150.00 and he went mad
By:
I would just like to add that REEDS were not even quoting a price for Farlow Ironman. I was observing and thought he'd forgotten to re-write the price up after scrubbing it off. The dog was unquoted for up to 10 mins before the off.
I assume that a price would've been available on request but he was clearly running scared and didn't want to take any bets! Pathetic. |

It stinks to high heaven, Tony Morris must be spinning in his grave at what has happened to the Wimbledon ring.
Bearing in mind a lot the on course punters would be tenner and score merchants that was a stroke beyond the pale and brings the industry into disrepute. Questions need to be asked.. |
By:
i rearly would like to see the books see how much it took to shorten it up
By:
It shows the state of the game, when that can happen in a Derby final.
By:
so which bookmakers did lay who will be fav market?
By:
cotton draws which firm was it?

By:

Do the maths lads, there were four books there and one of them says he took one 5k, a couple of bags etc and bits and pieces. If you take that as 10k total and assume the other 3 books did the same, that’s 40k so lets say 50k to make sure it goes off fav at anything from 9/2 downwards was put up.
Now if it was 4/1 to be fav before the race you need 20k on (80k profit) to ensure a 30k profit return no matter if it wins or loses Questions ? 1 Do we believe the RP side of the story (that is Henwood) ? 2 If 20k went on it to be favourite before the race did it show up in the betting ? 3 Who would think this coup, risking around a minimum of £70k to start was feasible? 4 Who would know before hand, how much they would need have available to throw into the ring in order to bring the price down that much in the final few minutes before the off ? I think check is spot on . |
By:
do any of the bookmakers at wimbledon bet at the racecourse and thus regularly hedge bets back on betfair?
By:
i think you will find out the bets laid were from people associated with the main BOOKMAKER. well done. lets hope it does not close in a FORTNIGHT. GOOD OLD GARY SHOULD BE LOOKING FOR A NEW JOB IN THE SCRUBS
By:
I assume billys had a pitch, what price were they offering?
By:
highmoon
who is the main bookmaker you are refering too... and what makes you say that... |
By:
Perfect opportunity for Mr Smarmy to display some proper journalistic skills rather than the lazy quotes from bookmakers stating that this and that are shocking losers for us etc etc that 'graced' the front of the greyhound section of the trade paper the day before the derby final. Is it too much to ask for some actual journalism within a paper??
By:
Probably
By:
Sky also had at least two reporters in the ring.
Did they spot anything untoward? |
