Into the 3rd bend now. Can Duke of Venice last home?
As usual, anyone can play. No need to have played in a previous round, though any late entrants will have to go some to win from here.
The main rules...
All players have a maximum of 15 points to stake on each card. The maximum stake on any selection in Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and the Quarter-Finals is 6 points. (This can be 6pts win or 3pts each-way.)
Selections may be “win” or “each way”. Selections may only be made in Heats of the Derby, not in supporting Opens or graded races. Stakes must be in whole points – i.e. not "two-and-a-half points each way". All selections will be settled at S.P. Each-way selections will be settled at one-third the odds.
Tomorrow's card: (Prices are a guide only. Odds in brackets are from 0ddschecker. Selections will be settled at S.P.)

Staking for the semis is still 15 points, but you're allowed 10 points max on a selection, so you can split the 15pts: either 10/5 or 5win/5e.w. or 9/6 or 8/7. You're allowed a full 15pts on your selection in the final, so it ain't over yet.
I can now look forward to spending a pleasant evening tallying-up the other competition. I think Duke Of Venice must be a member of Opus Dei - or maybe he's Max Mosley - as he definitely enjoys punishment, having devised a competition like that. I'm pleased there's only a field of 58 players and 120-odd dogs. When the Duke settled it two years back, there were 86 entries and 200+ mutts.

I've been known to choke away bigger leads on the golf course so far from over yet! Rioga and Bert have done me proud so far, now they're in the same heat i cant put them both up so need to do something different!!
Great job JW with running both comps, you've definitely gone into more detail with the other one than i did. All i ever posted was the leaderboards for the nights and overall which the spreadsheet did for me. You put much more into it like what dogs people have left etc so fair play for that even if it does mean more work!

only thing i would say about the format of the comp is.
allowing say 15 points in the final, so if a 5/1 chance wins and someone got the 15 points on knowing they cant win otherwise, they have a great chance of winning the comp when really, they would never have done that in "real life". but its been fun and very well organised none the less
