Must be massively pleased with tonights racing and coverage. Interesting that the Company Secretary (didn't get her name) interviewed on Sky by Gary earlier made sure that first and foremost it was important to recognise and look after connections, sponsors **ports at the last minute) and punters. Well done. Yorkshire hospitality at its best. As everyone watching can see it really is a great provincial track and a fabulous surface and a truly great racing experience. Should be given a BAGS contract. Markets holding up well. It's not rocket science even in a recession and other tracks should take note. Proud and privileged she mentioned having those two great dogs there to parade. How many tracks would have said that? Good stuff.

I was there last night and spoke to a friend who had a dog in the final.
He said he paid his fiver in and was given no hospitality, no buffet or anything Now whether he was just unaware of any hospitality I have no idea, but he seemed pretty sure there was nothing on I was also told second hand of another finalist owner who phoned up last week and enquired as to what they would receive as owners and were told they got nothing. They could pay in and book a table like every one else. Now I apologise if I have got the wrong info from these people but that is what I was told. Could the track not do with better lighting as well ? |

Apart from that, it is a smashing track.
Spotlessly clean , nice big bar and restuarant upstairs and what a lovely gallop for a dog. I would take a dog there without a second thought. |

There was an absolute fantastic buffet laid on for all trainers, it was located on the top floor in one of the executive boxes. A finer spread of food you wouldnt have bettered in a 5* resturant, it really was top class. Sounds like your friends didnt ask the right people..shame as they missed a treat. |

I can get more at Askern than I can Sheffield. Took a dog there 4 weeks ago, got a bag on no prob.

Is my local track and the general consensus of opinion is that it is on the up and up and up and improving year on year unlike many many others. Great night out and very very friendly. Dog racing is as much about enjoyment and the experience as anything else and that is exactly what you get at Doncaster. We might be in a chronic recession and what somebody mentioned about traps might be right but I cannot over - emphasize what a great running track it is and how friendly people are. I usually take my children for an hour or two on a Saturday and they love it. The quality is there for everybody to see. Ding dong and well done Doncaster.
