can you believe what has happened to Platinum? Buzzed up to get the record and once beaten, falls away everywhere. Was my gretest dog bet in years for the Champion Hurdle final, got the record, now get him a sofa, ffs. Or at least give him the winter off, what more do you want from him?

The favourite Toomaline Jack will not be able to take his place in the final of the Vetsearch Irish Grand National at Harolds Cross on Friday night.
Trainer Dolores Ruth reported this evening that Toomaline Jack tore a gracilis muscle in Fridays semi-final and has been treated over the weekend.
She brought the dog to the vet today and she reports:

Much depends on what Bigstrongpup does.... he would take on Ali in a fight. If Distant Legend makes one of his better starts, I could see him leading throughout. Lisacaha will finish fastest, but he will be behind early.
Report BJG November 6, 2009 10:55 AM GMT
Any 1 havin a play??

The 1 is very fast but how far behind will he be is the problem, very slow away! Will pick up everythin though if he can turn handy- early pace in 2-3-4-5 could see trouble at the first bend and open it up for the flying finish of the 1 imo, 1 to mow down the 4 late on with 2 back in 3rd, if only it was that easy, gl ;)

5pts win Lisacaha King

BJG - Love the confidence. No question he will be mowing them down late, but could arrive at the wrong time at the third turn. And again I'd be worried about the complete screw in 4.

Heard there have been some problems with Bigstrongpup this week anybody know anything?

The back door may not have worked the trick for the Waterford hurlers in the chase for All-Ireland honours thus far but it could work out just nicely for Waterford woman Julie Power in the final of the Vetsearch Irish Grand National at Harolds Cross this evening.
Last years winner Distant Legend has got back in to the final after the withdrawal through injury of the record breaking Toomaline Jack. Distant will come into his favourite six box and should get a relatively clear run.
He has shown in the past that he is well capable of beating any greyhound over obstacles and he has a mighty chance of winning this prestigious prize. Julie Power is also the trainer of the inside runner Lisacaha King and its going to be mighty difficult to keep him out of the frame. He absolutely flies home.
Michael Mulleadys Bigstrongpup is a formidable contender. Well capable of going up in front, he is a very difficult dog to beat but the draw has not helped as he has some big early pace on either side of him. The Sally Williams trained Time Me and the Martin Lanney pair, Little Boy and Love Lynx can all go up at a lick and it could be pretty tight to the bend.
But well be loyal to Distant Legend to do the National double for Julie Power and her dad Mick Brennan.

Cancel that last post :| forgot the f00kin reserve :^0

Further study needed ;)

I stand by my first post, 1 to bt 6 and 4 now ;) At least with Distant Legend back in the 1 should be a nicer price!

Heard nothin about Bigctrongpup myself so dunno?

Lisacaha still only 2s :|

To call 4 a complete screw and not comment on lisacaha is laughable.
The latter is the screw of screws. Any amount of pace, but if he shows it and if he goes past is always a major question, I think 2/1 is way too short.
Think bigstrongpup is getting unfair press. Thought he was game last week when toomaline was leaning on him all way from going into 4th bend. I know he had a fight after line (like many do) but can't remember him ever dogging it.
I think he is the most likely leader but also heard he has not had a good preperation this week.

Delighted for all involved in the winner. Mick Brennan a gent. . . . . As for being unfair on Bigstrongpup you have got to be joking. I've seen almost everyone of his races and now exactly what he is capable of.

He's had more fights that Roberto Duran (what a great fighter)...... I agree he only did a bit of leaning last week, but I've seen him chewing on more ears than Tyson. Lot of boxing references here.
