I managed to work out that ur total contribution to wimbledon greyhound racing is about a oner a meeting ,ur hardly pushing the boat out are you ,how much do u make on each meeting that u cover on here for wimbledon ? Guaranteed profit ,Im no fan of Mr Hood ,but the derby sponsorship is massive for the don ,so instead of giving it large ,get your hand in your pocket for a sport that is on the floor ..
u also need to take into consideration then when hills lay bets on what is now a minority sport they are laying shrewd money ,thats if anyone can get on ,Im no hero for the hight street their a complete shower ,ur guaranteed they are not u need to help our sport ,not concentrate on**ging Mr Hood ..

Interesting link, Betfair supplied audit certificates to certify payments in accordance with agreed contributions ( one of only 6 to do so) Well done B/F.

The reason i posted that particular link was to show some examples of what bf's contribution goes towards. For example, new plasma tv's for Ladbrokes Crayford stadia. Ok not all the money they contributor goes to refurbing bookmaker owned luxuries, some will go (rightly) to welfare, retirement, integrity, marketing etc etc, all needed for the sport to be successful. However, would you be happy to see your contribution go towards new tv's when those tracks in question deny form data, sponsorship opportunities, non runner, results info.

Agree with some points however surely results and form are available on line at various sites. I think that developing off track betting into track pools could provide income, Present tote deductions are a joke making it totally uncompetitive.

weaver i dont believe that is all betfair money that is contributions from the all bookmakers perhaps im wrong ,so saying it is 6 that means BF have contributed a massive 8000 pound to the don over the year about £50 a meeting PMSL :^0 and how much do they make a meeeting or do they pay the track to be able to put markets up .
My point is Hills have made an effort yer man came on here slateing them ,the £75k sponsonsorhip of the derby is massive ,geezers going on about people getting better value on here on other thread ,we hardly need to be told that

Add to that the stay away punters playing on here and £50 a meeting doesnt amount to much .
dont know why the other thread was started no need for it ..
betfair should answer and put their hand in their skyrocket and help this game out ..

eastmead - agree on the pools idea, but someone needs to organise it like the tote do for horse racing. With regards to form and results and additional info being available on other sites, answer me why the likes of b e t 3 65 can have this on their site and bf can't? Are 3 65 not seen as competition? What do they contribute to the game? certainly no more than bf on the bgrf contribution and definately not as much sponsorship.

case - that link i posted is for grants to stadia from all contributors, not just bf. My point was that bf and others (3 65 et al) are contributing to H ills, La ds etc luxory items at tracks - i.e tv's, new restaurants etc.
I'm sure they make more than what is contributed on a meeting by meeting basis, but when you consider the amount made on a premiership game to which £0 is contributed, it's all relative.
I couldnt agree more, well done to Hi lls for taking on the derby, for the prize money they're paying im sure they'll see the benefit. However, dont forget bf do / have some substanial sponsorship of their own - prestige, trainers champs, east anglian derby and**etc.
Of those tracks not covered by bf, how many are thriving? not many i'd suggest. Those that are probably do so more on the social side not the racing.
Saying all that, i agree, bf should put more into the game we all love!

And if they are betting with Betfair, they are betting with a company which makes a million pound-plus annual voluntary contribution to the Fund, ????????
where is this million pound plus contribution infact what is it ? Its a simple question does anyone know ,from what I can see they paid a track on its last legs £50 a meeting to print money in 2008 ...why wont betfair customer services answer ? there must be an answer im not saying this contribution doesnt exist ..
I.M.O the only meetings that should be covered on here are BEGS/BAGS ,Punters are not going to the tracks of an evening seems to me a nifty is being paid a meeting to print money ..........
The Game is on the edge over here ,not saying things are brilliant in Ireland bit they are alot better than here ..
Betfair dont cover Irish dog tracks.do they ?

excellent initial posts casemoney (haven't read all of the thread yet). People on here tend to follow betfair in a cult like fashion, no matter what the bigger picture is, or the latest stunt they pull - such as the premium charge etc.
the sport, esp wimbledon, needs all the help it can get - well done anyone/company who helps.
hopefully they'll do as good a job as bl ue sq did last year with regards to markets, in running outrights and the video streaming from the track.

ok read the rest of it :) agreed, it would be nice to see how much and what exactly has been given and where.
even if every thing Calvin saud was correct, it wasn't the classiest way to put the message out there.
