The DPW tour nexo. Another absolutely abysmal offering from the DP tour . Can't help but think that they are the architects of their own downfall(thanks Keith). No wonder so few watch(and bet on) anymore.

And this is following on from two blank weeks to end July ,pitiful. If players are good enough they will get to the PGA tour , the sooner this Top 10 every year ends the better.Sponsors are not going to stump up for this standard of field , as you say, well done Keith.
I imagine the PGA tour want it to end as well , it's not raising the standard over there. |

We long for the old days of NO LIV ,a healthy European tour ,the 4th major being played end of August ,all the top players playing PGA ,all we have now is 3 tours made up of a hot hotchpotch of players, and all the excitement between March and July only .We didn't know what we had till we lost it I suppose .

Think you've been unfair on Mr Pelley.
If the PGA say they will accept 10 there is very little Pelley can do to stop them leaving. If there was no promotion wouldn't the better world tour players try their luck on the Korn Ferry tour, where the top 30 get promoted. |
|
By:
No doubt condensing the majors hasn't helped but not sure I can go along with exonerating Pelley. Wasn't he vocal in saying HE had secured ten spots for euro players? I mailed the euro tour four times including directly to KP (whose mail was very difficult to come by) in advance and in the early days of this decision. No response. Don't think the Korn Ferry argument stacks up . Interested to hear other opinions(facts) on this though

Must qualify above statement. Magnificent player with achievements to match , great bottle on the course. Helluva difficult to listen to imo.

No one loves Nick as much as Nick.I am sure he is being rewarded but fair play to him putting his name to the tournament for several years .He was on about new sponsors next year and they are raising a fair few quid for the Guide dogs charity which is great to see.
Plus he seems to be on site all week. Best field for a long time in Europe as well ,obviously the fact only 30 are teeing it up in US helps. |

Agree with all points frames. Can only help and after writing it I sort of thought I shouldn't have

Anybody else have any suggestions for the collapse in liquidity on the European tour this year apart from the previous points raised? Not a peanut in the markets unless its a trap by somebody from the course(more likely euro tour employees as I wouldn't have thought the guys that previously worked on course can make it pay anymore). My only suggestion is with the Europeantour tv going encrypted this year and with nobody able to get it everybody has just packed in . If you put £100 to lay somebody it only takes a second for a fiver to appear just above . Same if you ask to back someone. What's the point

A lot have disappeared and a lot just don't have the money , those that do have the money cannot deposit large amounts thanks to the government and the inept safer gambling commission.
After a 4 year "retirement" I was surprisingly restricted to a 5k deposit limit/month on my return ,this was changed to 1500/month 3 months later as the commission considered I have a gambling problem. I get monthly texts/emails off my bank also suggesting the same ,it's not like it was. |

Yes- whilst the GC's intentions are good they pretty much don't have clue as to real issue. They attack on course bookmakers not realising that they aren't the problem . Incessant adverts for casinos , bingo , slots plus the firms concentrating on social media to hook in the youth. Ten years ago it was easy to beat the bookmakers, now it's nigh on impossible as nobody lays a bet , when they mistakenly do they call it palpable. That plus all the protection they receive . All they do is f*** the punters and the only body that has any power to do anything about it(GC) are clueless. The GC need an ex gambler on their board to educate them

Either show some proof or shut up. |

Hi CC , I wasn't implying the fiver topper was anything other than a topper or as you rightly say it's most likely that annoying bot. Cheers
|

By:
Almost certinaly a bot but not a Betfair bot.
This £5 bot will have a limit and will only top poor value odds. There is another bot working the big prices when there is gap big gap between Back and Lay offers. eg it may be 600-780 with £2 waiting on 780. If someone asks for 770 the £2 moves to 760 in a matter of seconds. I haven't studied it futher but I assume that if the bet is taken it tries to lay the £2 at 610. |

Anybody else pick up on this on Sunday (I'd imagine frames might be my man ).
Final group first green. TV coverage went missing as did the shot tracker. All for par -Fitzpatrick two feet , Lawrence three feet , Wallace four feet. Somebody wants £4000 or so on Fitzpatrick at 3.7 then 3.6 ,3.5 all the way down to 2.8(this from memory as i don't have access to this information unlike some). Still no coverage . Were the time delay to be correct the final group would have gone on the clock at the first. Lo and behold Wallace and Lawrence miss and Fitzpatrick holes. That's just one example how a 'thick' conspiracy theorists mind works but there are others. Whilst I'm on it regarding tv coverage . If I were betfair I'd want everybody to be able to watch european tour tv coverage as was the case up until this year(but they may have no say). Many factors contribute to poor liquidity in the markets but for me this is the single biggest contributing factor. Much better everybody having access to it and the pool being bigger rather than just bookmakers odds compilers. |
|

I did see the bet ,I think it came too early for the par putts to have already been missed.TV coverage has and it seems always will be a fair bit behind live , I get caught a few times every week ,just part of the game unfortunately, the thieves used to be about for the 4 days ,only Sundays now it appears.
The purple place had an excellent feature where by you could just tick a box and all your bets are suspended until you untick the box , no idea why BF cannot have the same. I was not aware of European tour TV ,was it behind Sky pictures do you know ? In-play is at an all time low no doubt even inbetween rounds is shocking ,difficult to lay the rags who have had a decent start unless you want to go silly prices. Where do you use for "live" scoring ? |
|
By:
Gotta go frames but I'd imagine like yourself, i consider gambling a game of skill, discipline and trying to gain an edge...not downright cheating . Back later

Hi frames, I don't have any fancy live scoring from the eurotour that I could help you with however I will make you a promise if you want. If they go back free to air next year as was always the case I'll advise you how to get it . The 3.7 was as Fitz stiffed it from the bunker and worst ways he was still in the same position as the first tee. The reduction in request potentially came about when the first and second putts were missed by W and L. Either that or it was just a mad punter prepared to take 7/4 an 11/4 chance lol. I'll still play off sky and the shottracker but I'll watch what I'm doing to the best of my very limited ability.

On a different note what is going on regards Liv/DP tours.Last week we had Casey in Switzerland ,this week at a big event by DP standards we have Hatton,McKibben,Reed, Meronk and Koepka.
Next week at DP's flagship event we have Rahm,Reed,Hatton,Pieters,Meronk,McKibben,Burmester,Niemann entered. Are these lads being fined as was the case before or is it a case of turning a blind eye , it improves the field for the big money ,f$ck the lads who have supported the tour all season ? At least so far I don't see Poulter's name entered. |
|
By:
Exactly the case. PGA tour doesn't allow it but when these guys have no LIV and a big money tournament is on in Europe they are free to plunder. On principle I disagree with it also but obviously a part of me contradicts that as its good to see some of them. LIV is losing money hand over fist (I know they can afford it), as far as i know few watch it and you just hope the plug gets pulled at some point.
|
|
By:
Believe there is a fine but its so miniscule that its not an issue to these guys

Currently 20 points bigger , how the mighty have fallen with 100million in the bank.
Garcia was another Liv player entered this week , just seen he withdrew Monday after Luke rang to tell him he's not in the team.If he rang everyone ahead of Garcia it must've taken a week. |
|
By:
I looked at Koepka on a win only basis (caddie and all) but his form is so bad even the 55 couldn't tempt me . I've now looked again and see he is 95. I've just asked for 100 (45 matched). So that'll be me 100 bad for the week!

By:
I thought LIV paid the fines for the players when needed?

They have in the past Trebor but after losing $5 billion dollars
one of their economy measures is to no longer make these payments. |

He was very poor cc as you predicted.Lost count the amount times he hit a horrible hook from the tee.
I've never got any money swimming against the tide. Saying that I haven't made much swimming with the tide either! |
