DP world tour had to go along with this. the tour was becoming irrelevant. they have said there will be more team events. dont think that will work. it only works for ryder cup. its an individual game.
golf is declining in popularity due to slow play. they need to fix that but wont stand up to the players. what happens to the 200 million DJ Liv contract? |

All a complete farce now.
Lots of backtracking from lots of people, though their pockets will be bulging. Was thinking LIV golf will fall away in a few years with general public not really watching it or buying into it. Some deep down, pron Rory must be gutted and shell shocked. |

Seems like players not consulted.
Some must be absolutely fuming. It's like the PGA tour officials are saying to them "You should have taken the money, we are!" Rory and others been completely shafted. |

Rory McIlroy was told to “f*** off” as tensions boiled over during a fiery players meeting about the PGA Tour’s extraordinary merger with LIV Golf.
The Telegraph reports that McIlroy became embroiled in a heated exchange with fellow pro Grayson Murray, who was making his feelings known towards PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan. Monahan is facing strong calls to resign by furious pros after secretly brokering a peace agreement with LIV before blindsiding everyone with Tuesday’s bombshell announcement. And Murray, the world No.277, was among those who spoke up in the meeting hastily arranged by under-fire Monahan in Toronto before the Canadian Open starting on Thursday. Murray shouted “we don’t trust you, Jay – you lied to our face”, while McIlroy retorted “just play better, Grayson”. It was then McIlroy was said to have been told to “f*** off’ by Murray, who was among the majority of players who felt betrayed by Monahan. |

40-50 years ago the whole of the golfing world was outraged by Sevy demanding appearance money from every tournament he entered. It soon became the norm. This thing will all blow over too.
