What a joke!
Jay Monahan's slush fund has funneled $100 into the hands of the super wealthy for nothing whilst the lower rungs of the game live hand to mouth. $15 million to Tiger who has hobbled around half a dozen or so times this year.
The PGA Tour has given away literally millions to those at the top in essentially a bribe to prevent them defecting (Hideki, Sam Burns and Cam Young got a $2 million bung despite not finishing in the top 20 I wonder why) whilst its virtually impossible to break even on the smaller PGA tours (canada, latin america etc)
It costs $6400 dollars to enter korn ferry tour Q school and out of the hundreds who enter less than 40 are guaranteed 8 starts whilst millions go to those who apparently play for the 'heritage and love of the game'.
Not sure how we got here but who really cares how much the elite earn whilst the majority of the world worries about turning on the heating.
What a grotesque sordid mess golf has become.
