His forward progress in the last 2 years has been extremely steady, from 160th in the world to hovering around the top ten, and no reason to think he can't take the next step and win something big. If he'd been hanging around the top of the game for years without a big win I'd be concerned but so far it's been a steady upwards curve.
for sure he is not quite in Ricky Territory, i guess i want to see him start winning more, not sue why but i quite like him as a player

Mentioned it umpteen times in past but Rory seems to find it nigh on impossible to actually concentrate for 18 holes.

Agreed, Rory gives a ridiculous number of soft shots away, it's the difference between him being the best in the world and just a top ten player.

Honestly think he's got way way way too much cash too actually give a flying ****.

He's possibly lost a bit of drive, or it may have been complacency. In the period when Tiger first disappeared he was head and shoulders the best / most talented guy out there for a good while, and he could probably afford the brain fades and still win. But now the quality at the top is such he can't afford to give shots away, you'd have thought the increased competition would have given him the focus to try to get back on top but not much has improved. He'll still win plenty on talent alone but just that little bit more focus he could do so much more.
Poulter getting into the habit of getting himself on leaderboards quite a lot recently.
missed the first few days of comp but going to watch later, any of you golf experts have any decent 2 balls you might fancy with watching the first few days, as you will have a better idea on who's been a bit unlucky, or been playing well.

really? if u look at the last 12 years only three winner won when they were ahead at 54 holes
JT and Rory is a pretty tasty last grouping. Would be the best of the year (on paper) I can recall.

Whats the thoughts on Fowler v Rahm 2ball ?, basically same price so a tasty 2 ball fancy Fowler myself as Rahm tends to be a bit erratic at times.
Be inclined to have a few quid on Day and Poulter. May find it beneficial not being in final group.
Will be very impressive if JT can make it 5/5 from last 5 36 hole leads. Hoping for some good chasing from the pack - except Leishman and Stanley!

What do you make of Tiger's rd today? exhaustion after so many tournies now he isn't used to it or just a bad rd? comms did mention earlier his swing mph was down today compared to other rds.

I think JT is doing just fine johnny - Poulter on the other hand was in a great position and has missed a couple of tiddlers. JD within 2 now
the one thing they do possess tho naturally is their putting prowess which u just can't buy

Not exciting but JT is some closer these days, doing exactly enough here.
I was so wrong on JT - before he won the PGA I didn't think he would make the step up - am glad to have been proven wrong because I really enjoy watching him - aggressive player but I think a smart course manager too. Fancies for next week? I haven't looked closely yet- Phil seemed to think the course would be a fair test though.
i think he's a natural putter like thomas & spieth..jedi..compare them to wee mac who will never hold a candle to them on the greens

Could have been a great spectacle this had Rory shown up but this is as dull as it gets. Sad ending to Firestone's run on the pga tour.

Not for me jedi. My thoughts are if you want someone for a top 10, back them in a top 10 market.
Well done JT for number 9. Easy to say it was boring, but Poulter, Day and Rory all fell away and were disapointing. Only had DJ and Stanley make a run from too far back. JT did just enough while the others in the later groups really struggled with the course.
