Tiger had qualifying for this a big goal of his this year, he'll be the first, second and third storyline this week. Speaking of which, wasn't expecting 15s
Would be a special week if the last event here he makes win number 80.
His forward progress in the last 2 years has been extremely steady, from 160th in the world to hovering around the top ten, and no reason to think he can't take the next step and win something big. If he'd been hanging around the top of the game for years without a big win I'd be concerned but so far it's been a steady upwards curve.

Mentioned it umpteen times in past but Rory seems to find it nigh on impossible to actually concentrate for 18 holes. Impossible. Total brain freeze every round, and costing him hugely.

Not much good golf tonight,in fact mostly pretty rank... Hoped to see these TOP PLAYERS put on a show tonight. Pretty poor on a pretty easy course and set up. Early starters must not believe the scoring....

He's possibly lost a bit of drive, or it may have been complacency. In the period when Tiger first disappeared he was head and shoulders the best / most talented guy out there for a good while, and he could probably afford the brain fades and still win. But now the quality at the top is such he can't afford to give shots away, you'd have thought the increased competition would have given him the focus to try to get back on top but not much has improved. He'll still win plenty on talent alone but just that little bit more focus he could do so much more.

missed the first few days of comp but going to watch later, any of you golf experts have any decent 2 balls you might fancy with watching the first few days, as you will have a better idea on who's been a bit unlucky, or been playing well.

Poulter for a birdie, camera man makes sure caddy is standing in the way so you don't see if putt is within 5ft of hole he birdied hole, only knew because he bent over hole to pick out, been a few times these camera people tend to make sure your view is blocked on crucial putts.

Rory putts WELL he wins this for me.. Decent value. 3 not a huge lead round here, looked like maybe be 4 ,5 at one point. Thomas playing very well though, looks to have developed a lovely fade to land it soft...

What do you make of Tiger's rd today? exhaustion after so many tournies now he isn't used to it or just a bad rd? comms did mention earlier his swing mph was down today compared to other rds.

Tiger not looked right all weekend, but will never admit an injury so who knows. Out of contention though so may just have been trying g things for next week.
Shame DJ has stalled here, could've made this properly interesting.

unequivocally the most overrated underachieving spoilt brat who capitulates under the slightest pressure and who adamantly refuses to ditch his short game coach Stevie Wonder..WAC

not impressed at all by JT becoming a bit of a choker..looking like he & jordan's stellar days could be behind them

JT should by now know pars are absolute gold... Everyone staggering around like drunks below him on the board.
Hard to believe how bad Rory been again,so bad his putting hasn't even come in to it. Wedge on on 1 gave up on spot...

I was so wrong on JT - before he won the PGA I didn't think he would make the step up - am glad to have been proven wrong because I really enjoy watching him - aggressive player but I think a smart course manager too. Fancies for next week? I haven't looked closely yet- Phil seemed to think the course would be a fair test though.

i think he's a natural putter like thomas & spieth..jedi..compare them to wee mac who will never hold a candle to them on the greens
he's an infuriating, talented, streaky player but gets too casual, struggles to grind out a score when the occasion demands which the greats were able to do

Can't believe anyone thinks Thomas a choker..... The tougher it gets the better he plays, when he started out he was very very one dimensional, not now,has all the shots now,has improved every month almost, and way beyond Rory etc in terms of improvement...

Well done JT for number 9. Easy to say it was boring, but Poulter, Day and Rory all fell away and were disapointing. Only had DJ and Stanley make a run from too far back. JT did just enough while the others in the later groups really struggled with the course.
