Chaps - I am meant to be playing Narin & Portnoo later this month as part of a mates 50th birthday golf jaunt.

Just read online that the course closed indefinitely last month.

Grateful if anyone can confirm this

I have tried phoning the club but no answer, suggests they have closed.

Any recommendations for other courses in the area would be appreciated. Will be playing both Rosapenna courses on the same trip

thanks!

Played half a dozen in the area few summers back, highlights were Ballyliffin and Cruit Island a hidden gem. Nine holer  near Burtonport with stunning scenery.
Enjoy your trip.

How far are you willing to travel?

Ballyliffin is absolutely superb. Two top courses, but Glashedy the standout. Up there with the very best in Ireland for me. Probably about 2 hours from N&P.

Portsalon a good track and about one hour and a half away.... but only about half an hour from Rosapenna.

If they are both too far Donegal (Murvagh) is about 45 mins away from N&P and also very good.

Cheers

It’s open again now, there was a dispute with the new owners, but all sorted now. look it up in the Donegal democrat, they ran a piece about it earlier this week.
