Hi all I layed brian harman in the 3 ball Harman fleetwood and Cauley at odds 2.96
harman and fleetwood had 70s and cauley had a 75
if half by lay lost and half my lay won
I make my net loss should be £9x1.96=loss £17.64   with a £9 win ie a net loss of £8.64
am I doing this right .

please ignore the fact that harman fleetwood and cauley sound like a firm of solicitors

Harman beat Cauley(loss) and he tied with Fleetwood (?)

What's the rules on the tie?

thanks for that chaps. at first it was settled as a £35.28 loss but its now been corrected to £8.64 and I can see how they have got this.

on the other side of it say you had backed a selection at these odds in a 3 horse race and your horse was in a dead heat win would that not work out to a £8.64 win so the opposite should be a £8.64 loss for the lay.

could you show me the maths how you get £4.32

thanks in advance

It is the stakes that get divided in a dead heat. Download the dead heat calculator and see for yourself.

you have a winning half of 4.5
you have a losing half of 4.5 X 1.96 = 8.82

4.5 - 8.82 = -4.32

Must of been 18 stake not 9 Rhino.8.64/2 = 4.32.
