Did anyone notice someone put up around £8k to back Castro at 2.42 around 7pm last night. I'm guessing this may have been someone thinking it was the final round, and hadn't appreciated there were still 2 rounds to be played due to the weather delays. For a short time I thought it may have been someone with advance information that the comp was going to be shortened to 54 holes, but at the time Sky were clear that it was going to go the extra day and the weather forcast was good so it would be completed Monday. Maybe I was wrong in my interpretation of the odds, and 2,4 (ish) was the right price for someone 4 clear at the halfway mark...but surely not someone like Castro who is looking for his first win. The other noticeable thing was the overround that was constantly around 150% to 160% whilst this was all taking place. Laid a bit myself at 2.42 but was concerned it seemed to be too good to be true. Long experience here has taught me that if the price looks too be good...it usually is.

Why is the PGA turnover well back on the European tour events for some weeks now. I know there is a posse of talent coming from the web.com every season. This year is no different. Just the major players seem to be deliberately excluding these fine tournaments from their programme. Would have been a perfect course and conditions for Shane Lowery. Maybe he will read this and post his reasoning on his Facebook page, which , by the way, is a fine page to add to your FB if you are into that sort of stuff.

impressive cash matched on the two of them, especially with a weak field and not often it's. not the winner with the biggest haul and the next biggest a third of that at 40000 is !
