THIN MARGIN AT 125: Jeff Overton, who missed the cut this week, is the last man into the Playoffs. He has 458.000 points. No. 126, Will MacKenzie, has 457.563. That means Overton made the Playoffs over MacKenzie by less than a half-point (0.437 to be exact).
Reminder – every shot counts. TIGER UPDATE: Tiger Woods started the week 187th in points. With his top-10 finish, he moved up to 178th. As it turned out, a solo second would not have been good enough to get Woods into the Playoffs. He needed to win on Sunday to keep his season alive. BUBBLE BOY MOVES UP: Charl Schwartzel started the week at No. 125, but he goes into The Barclays ranked 96th in points after his tie for third. Schwartzel shot his third consecutive 66 on Sunday to move up the leaderboard and secure his spot. “I think sometimes in this game when you don’t really have a choice anymore, you really stick in there and give it your all,” Schwartzel said. “It was like that for me this week.” THE NEW BUBBLE BOY: Only the top 100 will advance from The Barclays to the Deutsche Bank Championship. That means No. 100 Hudson Swafford, who missed the cut at the Wyndham, is on the hot seat. PLAYOFF STREAKERS: Prior to this season, 30 players had advanced to the FedExCup Playoffs each season. Following the Wyndham Championship, 22 of those players will extend that streak another year: Bill Haas, Jeff Overton, Matt Kuchar, Ian Poulter, John Senden, Ryan Moore, Charley Hoffman, Pat Perez, Nick Watney, Bubba Watson, Jerry Kelly, Luke Donald, Brandt Snedeker, Charles Howell III, Justin Rose, Hunter Mahan, Adam Scott, Jim Furyk, Sergio Garcia, Zach Johnson, Rory Sabbatini and Phil Mickelson. Snedeker, Furyk and Haas are past FedExCup champs. The players who failed to advance to the FedExCup Playoffs for the first time: Freddie Jacobson, Brian Davis, Bo Van Pelt, Ernie Els, Geoff Ogilvy, Aaron Baddeley, K.J. Choi, Steve Stricker. ROOKIES: Nine rookies are inside the top 125: Justin Thomas (36), Tony Finau (39), Daniel Berger (46), Scott Pinckney (78), Adam Hadwin (95), Nick Taylor (102), Jon Curran (105), Zac Blair (106) and Carlos Ortiz (112). pga tour . com |

Interesting leaderboard. Bubba aside, the rags are dominating

It's Thursday...the rags comes to the top and then the cream rises on Sunday.

The rest of the cream have given Bubba some start though. Parred both the par 5s as well :o I'm sure that won't happen again

it was soft in 2011 and virtually no rough its much tougher this year

Why has Rory not qualified for the play-offs? I know he has been injured for a few events but surely he is high enough in the US Tour rankings to get in.
|
|
By:
He has qualified, just not playing this week. He will be playing the next three events.
