This event seems to host a weaker field with every passing year, new spot on the calendar doing it no favors this year. Tough to navigate with a new course, 18 looks a decent finish, par 3 11th looks special. Looks like a course that favors a decent hitter with a bit of room to miss off the tee unless the rough is penal.

This has to be the low week of the season, every player should be taking this week off unless you are near a ranking points cut off point or playing as a favour to Tiger.
Although the Madeira is the only event some guys will get into all year so for them I guess it's the one they been waiting for!

The Women's British open on the Beeb looks the best event this week. No action on here yet though and high st bookies will be slow marking it up as well.

The Paul Lawrie event looks completely unappetising  - a cobbled together motley crew of journeymen players if ever there was

Yeah not a great week for the golf. This event is a shambles. Rose and Fowler must be licking their lips.

A bit of a graveyard slot, not surprising a few are taking this week and last off. After this week there is the bridgestone, pga, wyndham and then the play off events. A lot of players will be playing 6 of the next 8 weeks from the bridgestone.

Seeing the sort of star power you get when the world's 266th and 319th best players host events.

The doyens of the golfing game report here i see, ooooooooooh "that's what u get when the worlds 266th and 319th host a tournament" etc etc stop feckin moaning and pick out the winners got to be winners after all.Devil

Murcar will be interesting like all links courses if the wind blows and Paul Lawrie does a lot for junior golf in the area, the juniors will benefit and a lot of the top Euro players are supporting it so let's get on with it.

Tiger managed to pull in 5 of the world's top 50!

In fairness both events have got graveyard slots in the schedule.
