ATT Betfair. Patrick Reed is a very good player but contesting both this and Wentworth may be a bridge too far...

Bout time the ponce fired up and remembered he is a star, this missing cut nonsense needs to stop. Am thinking we see a different ponce this week.

is he using his pole vault stick ?
Report therhino May 20, 2015 12:30 PM BST
Not much interest in this with Wentworth on it seems. May not be a popular decision by Casey skipping the big one back home but I reckon he is a good shout here. Zach and the ponce to round it off, and looking to trade a few others.

Starting late due to weather, min 1 hour delay at the moment.  Going by the forecast could be a slog all weekend.
Report Hank Hill May 21, 2015 2:51 PM BST
I wonder if this could be a washout? Severe t'storms likely for the w/e and 80% chance of them on Monday too.
Report therhino May 21, 2015 3:46 PM BST
Casey, Poulter and Reed regretting their decision maybe
Report Total Bosman May 21, 2015 4:36 PM BST
Bit early to talk of a washout I think, it's a smaller field and there's light til almost half 8.  Forecasters tend to be quite cautious and deliberately vague when it comes to these storms (so people can't say they weren't warned), so the fact there's a possibility of storms each day is quite standard at this time of year, storms all day every day would still be very unlucky.

f-ck off - I specifically backed afternoon players because of the better conditions and I lose out because these spoilt ponces don't want to get their hair wet.

I hear what you're saying TB, but my in laws live in central Tx. The t'storm predictions have been spot on for May. Hopefully Fort Worth will miss some of it.

The Crowne Plaza Invitational from Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

The third event of Adam Scott’s "Texas Slam" - after the Valero Texas Open from TPC San Antonio, Shell Houston Open (SHO) from Humble outside Houston and now the 68th time Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth plays host to the Crowne Plaza Invitational - The first part of another TEXAS TWO STEP, with the AT&T Byron Nelson from TPC Four Seasons Resort in Irving to follow next week.

THIS week we again honour Ben Hogan at Colonial C.C. - designed by Perry Maxwell and John Bredemus - it's also known as “Hogan’s Alley” after the legendary 5 times champion with narrow fairways and dramatic dog-legs shaping this course from the tee, it goes down as a classic shot-maker's layout without question.
Not to be confused with the 6th hole in Carn-nasty or Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades  - The PGA Players voted this as one of their top 5 courses to play on TOUR.
Report Catch Me ifyoucan May 21, 2015 10:46 PM BST
Flooding has been a big concern for Dallas this week, and the trend will continue as we head into Memorial Day weekend holiday in the USA.
Normally a warm week for Dallas area with several days making a run at 90 degrees F. The Texas winds usually stand up as the first line of defence on this par 70 but only moderate breezes are expected throughout the week. The very wet conditions with preferred lies have completely changed the outlook to pick a winner.
Report Catch Me ifyoucan May 21, 2015 10:50 PM BST
Another Par 70 course with only two Par 5s - the 1st Hole and 11th hole. The course opens with a friendly Par 5 which is usually the easiest hole on the course.
However that’s where the birdie chances also ends - then the fun starts - from Hole 3 onwards, with a 247 yard Par 3 fourth hole and the extremely tough 481 yard 5th hole, likely to take back any shots that were gained earlier.
It is a tight tree lined track with small greens, numerous doglegs, very well placed fairway bunkers and water in play on six holes.
This is a real test of ball striking and driving accuracy is even more important this week. Course management in finding those small greens will also be crucial (within the Top 30 in GIR will be required) as will scrambling stats when the greens are missed. Strokes Gained Putting another important stat as those putts must drop.

Remember US OPEN places are still up for grabs...for the top 60 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Report Total Bosman May 23, 2015 4:10 PM BST
Yup.  Normally if the first two rounds are done in time you'd be very confident they'd get 72 done somehow, even if it involved Monday.  But the radio guys seem to think the end of the world is coming and are talking up the possibility of 54.

I suspected the pga.com website was run extremely inefficiently, e.g taking ages to update scores on the live leaderboard. Well now I know why. This is the message above the leaderboard right now

Report marychain1 May 24, 2015 5:26 PM BST
For this tournament I have done what I generally do these days, which is to throw a few quid at 4 or 5 each way pokes before the start of the tournament. Generally come Sunday I'll have one person more or less still in contention and if I'm lucky I might pick up a bit of place money although more often than not my last man standing will do enough to keep me interested before dropping out of contention late on, or will miss the each way place money by one place and/or shot.

Today though I have 3 (three) men in contention in Harman, Kirk and Snedeker. All are 1/4 1,2,3,4,5. Harman and Snedeker would be my best results, Kirk less so but still would be nice.

Anyhow, let me tell you how this evening will pan out. One of my runners (let's say Harman) will drop out of contention immediately with a double on the first hole and never recover. The second runner (Snedeker?) will stand stock still, resolutely refusing to score anything except pars whilst all the men around him slowly work their way up the leaderboard as the evening progresses. The third man (that leaves Kirk) will come out like a house on fire and birdie 3 of the first 5 holes. He will get my hopes right up before things will start to unravel on the back 9. A lost ball & a number of missed putts will lead to frustration for both him and me. On 18 he will need a birdie to secure a top 5 finish and salvage something from this promising but ultimately disappointing situation, but another missed putt will lead to him finishing in a tie for 6th.

That's a good point sickof, worrying if / when the young nerves start to give way to a bit more doubt.  Quite a lot of pundits have been saying they think he'll be a very good player but not a totally dominant one and I think that (and his lack of length) would be a big part of the reason.
