why there's matched so much money in the LPGA market ?

During my time on here I've never seen anything close to this in any women tournament and this one is held in Asia, which usually in mens tournament, attract even less money than when it's in Europe or US.
And it also looks as if the money is spread around, so it's not Down to a whale having a ton on at a short price.

Soprry, but I don't buy that.  Not even during womens British Open has there been anything close to this matched.

And the market now just a few hours before the final round starts is deserted.  Usually at this time there should be fairly good liquidity in a market which has had this much money matched.

Betfair is illegal in China too isn't it? Which makes it even stranger. Hadn't even bothered to open the market until reading this. Is it possible there are some shenanigans going on here? Some PC related profit dumps to some friendly accounts?

Its a mystery , Eddie .  Betting spread around quite a few of the players .

B.  Who laid them ?

Pays to be on the ball ,vegas .  That looked like a steal provided the data was accurate / semi up to date .  Who won ?  Cant be bothered to look it up , but if it was a winner for you it will be on the tip of your tongue !

Its a mystery , Eddie .  Basically very few are interested in the ladies tour , except the sponsors possibly and those close to the players . Occasionally a player pops up who catches the public imagination , Nancy Lopez , Kash and Karrie for a while , Anneka  , Lorena  . Others get huge media coverage without actually winning much , Michelle Wie for instance .  Then there are the ( American mainly )fashionistas with decent figures and snappy outfits , but their golf game seldom sustains interest in them , the Kournikova -ites .

I sat in a restaurant in Singapore with my wife about 10 years ago , at the next table there were 3 of the most prominent members of the European ladies tour , no one paid a blind bit of notice of them , despite them having been on local TV playing for a good part of the day .  Guess I was the only other person in the restaurant who knew their identity . Sad that , they deserved more recognition , I nodded at them as we left .

A friend of ours took on the ( onerous) task of running the European ladies tour  , gave it his best shot for a year , and then opted out . He was not used to failure , had been involved very successfully in helping with the European Mens Tour when it was at its development peak , Sevvy , Bernhard , Sandy , Ian , Nick et al . Couldn't make any progress in the female arena , head bashing against a brick wall ( of indifference I guess ) . You can take a horse to water , but you cant make it drink necessarily .

The only female sport on any footing compared with the mens equivalent is tennis . Down to Billy Jean and Martina initially  , but they had brilliant ambassadors over the years , Little Mo , Margaret Smith , Althea Gibson , Billy Jean , Chris Evert , Martina  , Steffi ( what  athletes these 2 )through to the Swiss Miss and the Williams sisters . A lot fewer female golfers in comparison . And they sell outfits the lady tennis players .
