So we have our teams ready to do battle at Gleneagles. Looking at it from a betting point of view there is only 1 bet to be had..........USA @ 15/8 is such a false price that it screams take me now!!! Why you may think as the Europeans have been dominant over the last decade and more.

Well allow me to elaborate. Firstly Medinah hurt the USA and I mean really hurt them the events of Saturday evening and Sunday will be in every players mind and will be a constant motivator during the build up of the event. Uncle Tom has made it clear revenge is very much on the agenda. The only negative from the US side is the omission of Chris Kirk who can feel more than aggrieved at missing out.

Also I think Watson will not be afraid of making the big bold decisions needed to win a Ryder cup and will be meticulous with every possible pairing. He is a legend of the game and liked by the all of the golfing public. He will get everything and more out of each player and to get them to 'lay it all on the line'. How can you not want to play for Tom Watson? Christ i'd even play for him!!

There are many demons to be put to bed for the US team and if we look at how the 1st 2 days went in medinah then im not sure how you would make them 15/8 to win. The European side looks strong but when it comes to pairing these up im not sure if they look as well balanced as the US.

15/8 yes please!!Excited

Agree that the 15/8 is great value. I dont see that much difference between the teams. Home advantage is a plus for the europeans but it might also be a hinderance. The USA team bossed the first 2 days at Medinah and im not sure we are that strong to be honest. Westwood has been poor all year, Gallacher has a terrible mathplay record and Kaymer is inconsistent. Donaldson and Duibuissan have to prove they can deal with the pressure. Even mr ryder cup Poulter is playing poor.

Whereas i think the US team is a lot more settled and balanced. Id worry that Jimmy Walkers form has gone but the rookie Patrick Reed i think will take to the course and he is a confident sort.

Im waiting to see if the USA drift even more.

very hard to call both teams are evenly matched. Will come down to who plays best over the three days. Surprised the US are so big.

Agree with you Jimmy apart from Mr Reed whose head came off in Boston last week - Think he will struggle but the points you raise about the Europeans is spot on. Im struggling to get 4 good pairs for 4somes. Rory and Gmac does not work for me at all even in 4balls they look beatable.

How do we see the pairing go for 4somes and 4 balls?
