Last year's T6th at -4 (one shot behind Woods) was Thorbjorn Olesen. He shot 78 first round (his first round at Augusta in competition) before finishing 70-68-68 (that final round 68 being the low score in the top 10) for a final three round combined score of -10 (best final three round score). I accept that he's made those scores without the pressure of being in contention.
This year he's had top 10 finishes in Qatar (Jan) and Dubai (Feb) on the European Tour so he's proved his form - he's only 24 so presumably getting better all the time - and he also managed a top 10 finish at The Open in 2012.
I don't bet on golf regularly - so is there anything else other than course form and current form to consider? Injury presumably?
Should I get involved at 200.0 on here, or 125/1 EW (first 6 paid out)? Seems too good a price to be true?
Thanks for any help from one of the golf shroooodies.
What you say about his ability is correct except I would say his form is poor at the moment, granted he had two good finishes in Jan and Feb, but since then he has missed all 3 cuts and lost all 3 of his games in the Eurasia cup.

Bigpoppa, crickets your sport if I remember correctly? Haven't posted on here in ages (me). Still been betting but not posting. Anyhow on to Mr Olesen, I have back him for this and pretty much every other tournament, he is just one of the players I always seem to back, I imagine most on here probably have a golfer they usually always chuck in the mix.
Olesens odds are high because of his form, far too many double bogeys have started creeping into his rounds of late and it's hard to keep recovering when you do that, he's also a bit wayward off the tee which again doesn't help his cause. Having said that he is extremely talented and has the ability to put lengthy birdie streaks together and when on his game is hard to match. He clearly states his love for Augusta and seems to have good vibes being at that venue and might kick him back in to form.
You might want to form a young gun trio and back him alongside Patrick Reed and Jordan Speith. I'm certainly no expert and flick between sports, but they are my thoughts on Olesen, one day he'll win a major maybe more, hopefully this one.

Certain players play their best golf on this course, whether Olesen is one of them has yet to be determined but i suspect he is suited to this course. He will win The Masters one day but the recent poor form is something to be wary off. I would prefer 300 instead of 200.

I've recently learnt how much course form affect the players odds. I'm guessing that if Cabrera hadn't almost won last year he'd be nearing the 1000 mark cos he's done terribly this season.
