Cheers Money, can't say I have massive confidence with the European Tour selections this week. Piss poor field and only last year's course form to go on so definitely a bit tricky. Think I'll get a run for my money though haha. Good luck with your's chief

Not to sound condescending but I looked at your score in our little competition. About 280 to 300 points should get you valuable ground. There is no doubt that the African tournament is the easiest imo to get those ( or at least most of the required points ). Choices look to be very near about 6 players and South African players have been dominating. The Honda is harder than the Masters to pick up points. Knowing you, you will hatch a plan there. I am only messing around on horses . Nothing serious. Have traded a nice book on the Triump. Was impressed by Activial last Saturday as was Noel Fehilly. Hope it is not coming too soon between races but he appeared to be a tough type of animal and wants it heavier than heavy in my opinion, differing from connections.
Report toberaheena February 25, 2014 6:25 PM GMT
@Quincy.. sorryguys. Last post for Quincy. Poke. I am not sure you will be happy that I think Adam Scott is my main fancy for the Honda. Trying for 22/1 here. What is he with Lux.

@Kjeldson.... Hope you are feeling a bit more perky than earlier in the week. Once the golf starts streaming you will be a new man. I like the way you have picked your selections. Shows a bit of charachter to name a few players at big prices, many not very well known yet around Ireland. Thanks for putting upt

Thanks Toberaheena, much appreciated Happy It's been a great season so far so fingers crossed it continues. Golf just offers fantastic value betting imho and there are very few weeks without some overpriced selections just begging to be backed!! Course sometimes they still go out and play like donkeys but that's all part of the fun haha.

Scott looks utterly transformed mentally since getting that Major monkey off his back and with his limited schedule just focusing on the biggest/favourite tournies he could easily go on and bag another two or three Majors over the next few years. Good luck this week mate GrinGrin

@pantsonfire.... did you lose your specs again ? There is a difference between ''not very well known'' and your reading of it as ''unknowns in Ireland''. Come here on holidays and I will show you where unknown really is. You must be a busy person.

Adam and his putter were not at one today. Still, a lot of time to go . 25% of the tournament played and a leader by 1 shot is 9/4. I agree with Quincy. Very, very, short price.I have Rory as a saver to my stake on Adam due to an early couple of trades.

Hi guys!
Got myself into a good spot this week... have a few different bets on Del Moral see below;

On Betfair
Outright Winner Market
Carlos Del Moral     552.86     £56.84     £31,367.76

With JamesStan
25 Feb 2014 23:17         Tshwane Open Top Twenty Finish     Top Twenty Finish, Del Moral, Carlos, 20/1
Single £13.00 (Pot. Ret. £273.00)     Open     Open0.00
25 Feb 2014 23:16         Tshwane Open Top Ten Finish     Top Ten Finish, Del Moral, Carlos, 50/1
Single £25.00 (Pot. Ret. £1,275.00)     Open     Open0.00
25 Feb 2014 23:15         Tshwane Open     Tournament Outright, Del Moral, Carlos, 500/1
Single £16.00 E/W, £32.00 (Pot. Ret. £10,032.00)     Open     Open0.00
25 Feb 2014 23:12         Tshwane Open Top Ten Finish     Top Ten Finish, Del Moral, Carlos, 50/1
Single £25.00 (Pot. Ret. £1,275.00)     Open     Open0.00
25 Feb 2014 23:11         Tshwane Open Top Twenty Finish     Top Twenty Finish, Del Moral, Carlos, 20/1
Single £25.00 (Pot. Ret. £525.00)     Open     Open0.00

So as it stands at the moment my returns are;

Top 20 Finish = £798
Top 10 Finish = £3,348
Top 5 Finish = £5,364
Victory! = £43,500 (minus betfair commission)

Total staked this week is £330 (I also backed Broberg and Kamte)...

So any thought on what my gameplan should be from here?
Report pantsonfire February 28, 2014 11:18 AM GMT
Great pick. I'd be laying off my 330 stake right now taking about 10k off my outright potential profit. Two top tens in about 100 events over the last five years doesn't look like the best of form but this is a weak field and every dog has its day as they say. Good luck whatever you do.
Report pantsonfire February 28, 2014 11:20 AM GMT
Having said that it's not so easy to lay off 330 in an event like this at those odds.
Report angeldust February 28, 2014 11:23 AM GMT
looking at last years results and scoring. 15 Under would of got a top 10 finish, scoring last year after 2 rounds was slightly worse, so I'd say 16 under will get a top 10 to be safe. Top 20 was 13 under so 14 under likely to make top 20.

So at 11 under, needs to continue to play and score well make a top 10. What probability would you make Del Moral to shoot 5 under or better over the last 2 rounds? Around 2/1?
Report angeldust February 28, 2014 11:25 AM GMT
That actually is a very good idea... Lay the £330 week's stake, then I am freerolling for whatever happens... I'll wait till end of round but I think that is a great idea! There should be enough liquidity to lay £330 once this round has finished...

Report pantsonfire February 28, 2014 11:33 AM GMT
Too many unknowns for me. How will he react to being on a leaderboard. How was the weather last year? Maybe the conditions have been 2 shots easier this year. Course is 200 yards longer this year and your man is not the longest off the tee by a long way. How do you compare his 72 76 MC last year with his 68 65 without a bogey this time round? I'd be laying off on the outright market leaving profit on top 20, 10 and keeping my fingers crossed hoping to lay a good chunk more at single figures tomorrow.
Report angeldust February 28, 2014 11:59 AM GMT
Well the main reason I backed him was the manner in which he won Q School, by 5 shots, if you can win with the pressure of Q School... why couldn't he win this weak co-sanctioned event... I think worse players have won these co-sanctioned before.. I also remember Simon Khan winning The PGA at Wentworth the year he won Q School... Oscar Henningson another one that won Q School then won in the following year... signs are good I think.
He's also won twice on the Challenge Tour in 2006 and 2010; so maybe he wins every 4 years, lol!!!

Although he has played over 100 events he is still a relatively young player at 28 years old, and maybe now is feeling more comfortable on tour and ready to step up his game. You'd think he's got to be coming into his peak of his career right now just coming off the back of the Q School win and having quite a nice bit of experience and a couple of challenge tour wins..

I will lay the £330 and hopefully will be able to lay at around 26/1

:)

Backed Roos each way at 66. Finished 10th here last year. He has won several times before. Multiple winner on the Golden State California tour. Won the Zurich Open in 2010 beating amongst others Thomas Bjorn and Marco Crespi. Also a six time winner on the Sunshine tour. Small stakes, lets see if he can make the step up in class this weekend.
