Any maths boffins out there who know a formula or algorhythm to work this out?

I'm trying to organise the playing schedule for our golf tour.

20 golfers, split in to two teams of 10 ( England v Ireland)

I need to schedule 5 fourballs for three days.

I don't want anyone to play with the same person more than once i.e each player should play with 9 different players over the three days

I've tried doing it manually but it is driving me mad

Thanks

PS. managed this last year with 20 golfers when there wasn't a 10 v 10 team competition element

I'll be impressed if anyone can solve this.  I suspect it's impossible but I wouldn't know how to prove it's impossible.

Sounds like a fun trip anyway. Happy

Here's my suggestion, think it works, though it was quite late when I did it!

3 rounds in 3 days leaves plenty of drinking time !
