Which part of 'so, 123 to tee it up' are you struggling with ? Shocked

No replacements in this event. If you're not in the top 125, you're not in the field.

Just thought the 126th and 127th person should be allowed in.

Looking forward to this. A truly great venue.

My bets are based on Tiger fluffing his lines again, but the gambling god on my shoulder tells me that he could well do something special this week. I just can't back him at the price, so I have gone elsewhere.

Harris English 125/1 E/W
Graham DeLaet  175/1 E/W
Charl Schwartzel  66/1 E/W

All more than fair prices, IMO.

Cameron Tringale embarrassing again, but he will still be wearing a few of my hard earned. Hoping, and expecting that his price will head north before the off.

Good luck.

Well done again to Ski last week. A true legend.

Hard to know how much emphasis to place on the last running of the event here. Players didn't like the course in 2009, it finished bottom of a poll of all courses played that year - "They took a perfectly good waste dump and ruined it" was one comment. Greens have been flattened and fairways widened for this year's edition to appease the pros.

They have made some changes since last time found this in NY Post -
In total, five greens were entirely rebuilt, and an additional six were reconstructed; 13 landing areas were altered; and 11 tee boxes were expanded or moved. Some fairway bunkers were moved farther from the line of play, and the greens complexes generally were made flatter, allowing for more hole locations and less severe run-offs into deep chipping areas

Not so sure it's a great venue Maggot, as said above the players hated it last time. Last year was a great venue, leave it at Bethpage I reckon, that is a sensational golf course. This is a strange looking course, some of it looks links inspired, some looks standard American resort style. Tough one to pick, Woods nearly won last time so could start there and Rory showed signs of life at the PGA but a this may be too soon for a win. Can forgive Mickelson for the last 2 starts, Open letdown and layouts not suited to his game. Nice price this week therefore and he is a member here so can assume he knows his way around.

If the fella can get some putts in, I can see him being a feature. Been playing some tidy golf this summer.

Stuck a fiver on Cameron @ 570s...

Also stuck a fiver on Ogilvy @ 570s by mistake..

Not the worst mistake I have ever made. Could be an omen... Could it ?

I'm thinking this is going to be a tricky little affair.
I'm thinking there will be numerous position changes as events unfold.
I'm thinking caution to being with.

T.Woods
R.McIlroy
H.Stenson
M.Kuchar
J.Spieth
J.Huh
M.Every and
D.Ernst.

I would ask my multitude of followers to be wary, and keep the vast majority of your powder dry, as events unfold.

Yours, as always, Heinz. Happy

We have disagreed on many a thing over the journey, and have had our ups and downs, but on this occasion, we are as one my good man. Haven't a clue, and am going very small stakes on a few roughies to start, Kelly, Bowditch (I'm developing a complex) and Wagner whose price is a bit rude. Traded Castro and Cabrera for free back up. When in doubt, back Tiger methinks. but, waiting for now.

This week sees the first in the series of Fedex Cup playoff tournaments and we return to the Liberty National course which was used in 2009 for the Barclays. It certainly had some mixed reviews last time out but I am quite happy to side with a player who finished tied 2nd then - Ernie Els. Whilst it is definitely not a total links course it certainly exhibits a lot of features synominous with proper links courses not least it's coastal nature and these days Els seems to be at his best on these courses. His results this year have been a bit patchy but a 4th at the US Open and a win in Germany look good on paper and he returned to a bit of form closing with a 65 at Sedgefield last week - I don't see why he is 100 on Betfair and the 70/1 e/w is well worth taking or he is 80/1 at Sportingbet.com.au 0.5 ew
I will also side with a couple of "rags" at big prices - firstly Kevin Streelman who finally lost his maiden tag earlier this year in Florida. He followed that win with a string of excellent finishes but then went off the boil but returned to form with a 12th at the PGA Championship last time out. He was only 58th here in 2009 largely due to a second round 78 but has been 4th and 3rd in this event on the Ridgewood course in New Jersey. I was on him back then with probably one of most bizarrest links I ever found as he has strong family ties with New Jersey and his grandparents are buried next door to the course at Ridgewood! Anyway - he seems a big price to me this week - 0.2 ew 150/1
Last but not least is Martin Laird who although having never played the venue should be quite at home. The Scots first win on the Web.com tour came on another Cupp designed course - Jennings Mill which resembles Scottish links courses by way of its mounding. Like Streelman he also has a good record in this event at Ridgewood with finishes of 2nd and 7th to his name. He secured his third PGA win this year and was right in contention at the Open Championship before one bad shot cost him a nine. That one hole badly affected him but he is a resolute character and again looks an attractive price - 0.3 ew 150/1

Had to take Westwood at 46s seems great value to me always seems to get in it and should be good for a trade. Taken a few but as mentioned Ogilvy at 570 s, KJ at 480s and BVP at 400s pick of the value.

I've added G-Mac at 75 to my other eight. In decent form, few better at closing out tournaments, handles weird courses and somehow seems at least 20pts too big to me.

Gone for 5 players in this.No great confidence betting on this event though due to the course but i'll have a stab anyway.

Kaymer - Win only @ 80s on here and 14s for a Top 5 finish

Jones - E/W @ 125s with Paddys(Top 6)

Sabbatini - Win only @ 170s and 32 for a Top 5 finish on here.

The Hoff(peroxide version!) - Win only @ 230s on here and 33s for a Top 5 finish

Appleby - Win only at 740s and 60s for a Top 5 finish on here

Good luck with yours...

Stenson backers may pay to take a look at the matchbet market vs Scott. Scott is a comfortable fave, despite Stenson being priced well shorter in the winner market. Could be a bit of value there for Henriks supporters.

Webb is a bit short isn't he Deplast? Major type field, major type prices, he would have gone off at least double what he is now in the majors this year.

IMHO the most difficult tournament of the entire season to date.
I just can't make head nor tail of it !
