Woods played much better and shot 2 worse. Funny old game is links golf.
Lee wont be as lucky tomorrow.
Final ball pairing is a chokers 2 ball.
could easily have shot 76.Woods played much better and shot 2 worse. Funny old game is links golf.Lee wont be as lucky tomorrow.Final ball pairing is a chokers 2 ball.
ffs, at the eagle hole where he mishit his driver of the deck, straight right, bounced left off the rough to the front edge of the green and then hit the pin and went in the hole when the ball was going of the green.
a bunker shot that he duffed, that just dribbled out of the bunker and rolled stoned dead
a tee shot at a par 3 that was 20 yards long, pitched in the rough behind the green and bounced back onto the green 15 foot from the hole.
a tee shot 40 yards in the rough at the same hole (3) where Laird shot 9. Lee had a perfect lie and had a birdie putt.
apart from that he played splendidly.

as he said in his interview the bunker shot was his best shot of the day....he hit it perfectly but if you think it was a duff that`s fair enough....if Tiger or Phil played the same shot everone would be gushing....as far as the eagle is concerned he was aiming for the hole and it went in so it was another great shot.

he is lying about the bunker shot, he hit it a mile behind the ball, even the partisan commentators were dubious.
as for the putt, if you think he was aiming for the hole you definitely have never played golf.
Puggy, have you ever played golf?he is lying about the bunker shot, he hit it a mile behind the ball, even the partisan commentators were dubious.as for the putt, if you think he was aiming for the hole you definitely have never played golf.
Yeah he hit it miles heavy out of the sand and it only just clambered out. If he claims he meant it then it was a complete stupid shot as he risked it coming back to him

I personally dont think he will hold up to the pressure.
He should have won the open that Cink won.
Think he was leading by 1 with 6 to go and flew the green at a par 3.
and yes, that putt at 18 was a sign of things to come.

yes aberdonia, i play golf off a handicap of 13 but i dont know what that has to do with anything.....obviously if he did not hit the shot perfectly it would not have ended up beside the hole....the dubious commentators are just that because they cant do it. It sounds like if he hit the sand closer to the ball and it went 20 feet past you would have considered it a good shot. I personally would call it the shot of the day.

he hit his putt for the eagle poorly and it went in the hole.
he was lucky, we all get lucky on the golf course.
will he take advantage of his good luck tomorrow?.
he will have to play much better tee to green in my opinion to have a chance.
Woods, Scott & Stenson will have plenty of chances tomorrow to put him under pressure.

I bet on Westwood when he was 13.5, and watching it this afternoon it did appear he got very shakey when in the lead and managed to lose that 3 shot lead in just 2 holes. His putting and demeanour have improved a lot, but as soon as he missed a green badly he was stuffed, and doubtless its only a matter of time before he misses another in the final round and I doubt he will escape with a bogey again. I think if he's in the lead he will get nervy, and if close to the lead sooner or later will get screwed by his inability to chip/recover. So I have layed the bet, still kept a bit on him for the sake of prudence, but all in all I feel Scott is a more likely winner than Westwood, as long as he doesnt get ahead too early!

Things like claiming that bunker shot was the shot of the round are the reasons I cant stand Westwood. Hes a complete and utter fake. Why dont you just be honest? What difference does it make? Everyone hits bad shots and gets lucky from time to time so just admit it!It was so obvious that you didnt mean to land it where you did.
He also gets asked if hes nervous and claims to be so calm! What a load of bollocks! If you were calm, you would have won majors by now instead of choking.
Els was asked the very same question, a multi major winner, and he admitted straight away that you get very nervous!

I regularly do all of that and more on a single par 5 - and then sink a pressure put for the usual 8+ to halve. so whats the problem?

Westwood has the worst driving accuracy 57% and greens in reg also 57% of all the players in the top 10. In fact there are many players with better stats who missed the cut. Difficult to see him staying in lead unless he actually starts to play well and not just putt well. He definitely can't get luckier. Has not had a bad lie all week.
