Hey all you golfing betting experts - I'm after a bit of advice. I dabbled in Masters betting in play and found that prices were moving on incidents you couldn't see. Basically I backed Kuchar who was doing well but couldn't lay the bet as his price dropped immediately as he started dropping shots which weren't being shown. I realised how much of the TV coverage is DELAYED making it difficult to react in an informed way. The market seemed to know so I'm not sure where the betting experts are getting their info from. I did find watching the red button Amen corner coverage you could see stuff happening often b4 the main stream. Any advice on in Play better would be gratefully received.
Only lay / play in between shots , or as near to that as possible . The TV companies muck about with the picture feeds in order to increase "drama" ( not that the Masters needs extra drama ). Amen corner red button was great during the tournament , kept anyone watching that aspect ahead of the general game .
Still think there are on course scalpers about , plus some who see everything before it is broadcast , would want to be in on their act . I only bet small in running , usually to adjust a position , last night I only bet on the top 5 market , wanted to lay Kuchar for a place to flex out the book , nobody wanted to back him because they saw nothing of his play .

Hey xmoneyx u must have had a dramatic evening having money riding on CAB. What a class act he is btw (both as a player and a bloke. Thanks kelly for that useful info. I think the prob with Kuch was his bad start made him drop straight down the Ldr board which results in zilch TV coverage. I haven't thought abt checking out in Top 5 mkt in-play so will pay more attention to that in future.

There is nothing you can do about prices moving before being shown on TV.
DO what i do......be predictive......do it in advance.
If player A is on the 5th hole...i would look ahead by looking at the 6th, 7th hole and make my prediction that player A will par the 6th and birdie the 7th.....thus i will back.......if i predict player A to par the 6th and bogey the 7th, then i will lay....

we have to accept that the tv coverage afforded to us is not helpful to in running play.On sky, they were still concentrating on Woods at the eighteenth when he'd lost all chance,at the same time Scott was attempting a birdie putt on the sixteenth to take the lead,it was a couple of minutes before they deemed to show us that.Unfortunately as long as Woods is on the course irrespective of his position it seems that the producers decide he takes precedence.

Agree with gerbs. Dont know if it was the increased liquidity but the prices were much more in tune with what was happening.
In terms of betting in play ski is right you need to think a couple of holes ahead.
It also helps having as many options as possible. This week i had tv pictures and radio . Often the radio would comment on something that hadnt happened on Tv or vise versa. In regular events Shot tracker can be useful.

We are not traders in the essence that the professional traders are. Nearly all on this site take positions and back their knowledge of golfers, courses and the weather.
It is the beauty of betting on golf, that the event has 140 players taking part over 12 hours over 18 holes and 4 days. It gives the amateur a chance to compete against the professional traders and bots. It is simply the best sport to bet on as a punter.
Make your choices, build positions and enjoy. Speed is not that important. If they miss the putt they miss the putt, may position is made way before they start lining it up;)
